My DH insisted on going to DL for a quick 3 night visit to DL after camping and I had to agree. It was great except hotel (Anabella ) . Crowds were very managable.
On Thursday for example we got there at opening and did Peter Pan, Snow White, Mr. Toad, Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Matterhorn, Splah Mtn. x2, Pirates, Winnie the Pooh, Tarzans Treehouse, Indiana Jones and had breakfast all between 8 am-noonish.

Glad to hear the crowds were managable!! Did you go to the

park at 7:30? Somewhere I heard you can get in 30 minutes

early. Just wondered. Hate to go 30 minutes early and have to

wait .

Did you hear anything about Big Thunder Railroad? We have 6

days until we go and are hoping it will be up and running.

We were just there and they didn't let anyone in DL until 8:00am. The line was long to get in but it went pretty quickly, once we got in, the lines were short until about 12:00 to 1:00 when it started to get crowded.

They did not let anyone in early when I was there. We got there about 7:30-7:45 am to wait. I did not bother to ask when Big Thunder was going to be back up. A few more thoughts.... I did not see Fantasmic since we just saw it at MGM in June but even the 10:30 show was packed filled to burst. At DCA they let people in a half hour early to queue up in the Sunshine Plaza.

What didn't you like about the Anabella? We stayed there last year and it was great. I'd be really curious to know what's changed.

The first thing that turned me off was when I called to REQUEST 2 double beds. The guy, Albert said I caould not make any requests until I got there. I understand that a request is exactly that and they dont have to give you want you want but requesting 2 beds sould not be a big deal unless they are sold out or something. Also when I called for a wake up call they said ok got the time and hung up on me, no goodbye, no is there anything else, just hung up. That to me is rude. Another thing is the bathrooms. The bathroom area is a marble-like that were very slippery, to the point that I laid the towels down so my kids and I wouldnt fall. There are too many hotels in that area to choose to stay at a place were they treat you like crap. I have stayed at the Candy Cane, Holiday Inn, Hawthorn Suites, Paradise Pier and the Grand Californian and a couple others...no other hotel treat us like they thought we shouldn't be at their grand place.

Wow, that's not at all the treatment I received when I was there!

Please, do yourself and all the rest of us a favour and please write (not email) to the manager of the hotel. Detail the problems you encountered and how you were treated. If the management doesn't know there's a problem then they can't fix it!

Were you at DL on a Saturday?? If so how were the crowds. We get in Friday afternoon so the first place the kids will want to go Saturday morning is to see the castle etc.. I know this will be the most crowded day of our 5 days there but I think we will have to go to DL first. We will be able to go back many other days but I worry that our first DL experience will be hot and crowded.

I might see if we can do DL until noon or so and then take a break at GC and then go to DCA for late afternoon/evening on Saturday. Do you think that would avoid some of the Saturday crowds??

We were there Thursday and Friday. Saturdays are usually crowded but if you are there at opening youcan do more. Usually we go to Fantasyland (Peter Pan is ALWAYS our first ride) first since none of those rides have FPs and the lines get really long. I loved the GC, such a beautiful hotel. Make sure you eat at Whitwater snacks..food good and decent prices. I also got a refillable mug there.
