Just got back today! We arrived on thursday night . (didnt do any parks that night)
Friday (universal)
Sat Magic kingdom!! VERY CROWDED!!! I havent seen that park so crowded in years!!!!! We did two rides and left!!
We stayed at Riverside it seemed pretty crowded also.
Not sure why the crowds were like they were but I will never go on a weekend in May again!

Welcome back.I don't know what would have caused MK to be so crowded. How did you like POR?Is Magnolia Terrace still closed for refurbishment?Did you hear any info on a possible refurbishment of AB?I have never been able to pull myself away from WDW long enough to try US,IOA and CityWalk.Am I missing out on alot of fun? On a scale oy 1 to 10,with WDW being a 10,how would you rate US,IOA and CityWalk? Are they worth giving up "Disney Time" to visit? Thanks for the help.:D

WEDWDW

I have been to US, IOA and CityWalk a couple of times. My kids are teenagers 15 and 13 and they love it there. The best thing about it is if you stay in one of their hotels you get FOTL access to all rides. You can get so much done in so little time. I think it is worth giving up some WDW time to visit. Many people split their vacations in half and stay sometime at Universal and sometime at DW.

Hi all!!:)
As far as comparing Io, Us to Disney I would give it an 8 with Disney being a 10. We enjoyed ourselves. I agree withthe PP that it would be the best if staying onsite.

Riverside was nice. We went to eat at Cape May and it made me really miss that hotel and the area!!!!!
Magnolia was still unsder rehab while we were there.

Were there lots of school groups?

That usually happens toward the end of the school year.

Thanks for the info on US and IOA.How does CityWalk compare to my wonderful DTD?I guess I will have to try US,IOA and CityWalk on a future trip to WDW.I just hope Mickey doesn't find out.;)

Welcome back! Wow, I can't believe the crowds at MK already!

How was the weather?

I think the crows are allways a bit more on Sats especially at the MK. But I have not seen crowds like this in years! (But I also try to stay aways from MK on Sats!!:)

Also a little warning if you have allergies to flowers make sure to take some meds before you go to Epcot!! It is beautiful but three of us got sinus headaches after being in Epcot!! (flower and garden )

We just got back also. Saturday May 8th, was not crowded, we got to ride alot of rides, the longest wait was for Mickeys Philharmagic...35 minutes, everything else including rides in fantasyland were 25 minutes or less. Splash mtn was 10 minutes, BTMRR was 5 minutes. We had a blast. Saturday May 15th...was unbelievable!!! I couldn't believe the crowds. the wait for the same rides we rode the previous saturday were now over an hour. Don't know where the people came from. We stayed at FW campground for 10 days, never saw alot of people until may 16th. We went to Trailsend for breakfast at 9:00 and had a 45 minute wait for a table. I don't know where the people came from. We walked into that restaurant all week with no one there. We had a fabulous vacation!!! Can't wait to plan our next one.

Welcome back! We went in May 2002 and in March 1st this year. No comparison. We won't be going in May again unless we win a free trip! ;)

I just got back too and the parks were really busy on Saturday. I was at MGM and there were a lot of school bands and groups wearing t-shirts that identified them as such and also a lot of larger groups of high-school aged kids. The waits for RNRC and TOT were at about 40-45 minutes during the afternoon, peaking at about 75 when RNRC broke down. Thursday and Friday, however, were not busy at all. We rode almost everything at MK in less than a full day and only using Fastpass to ride rides twice in a row.

Tnkrbell-I sure hope Mickey and Minnie don't find out what you said about DTD and CityWalk. ;)

We were at AK on Saturday and it was also unexpectedly crowded due to various school bands
