from WDW. We stayed at the Summerfield Suites..now Staybridge ...right off of Buena Vista Dr. We had a 2 bed. suite, pd 104/night. Cont. bkfast (nothing special at all--don't count on enjoying it) a nice pool, big rooms, clean, 3 tvs and very nice. My dd could nap while the other dd could watch tv in the family room and dh could nap in the master bed. Housekeeping was good and it was 15-20 min from the parks with traffic. We were 1/4 mile from Cross Keys. I just can't imagine the 4 of us staying in a hotel room for 4 nights cramped up. Have fun everyone!!!

Glad you had a good trip.

Next time, you may want to consider a condo or pool home rental. We're just back from a 3-bedroom, 2-bath cono at Windsor Palms that we only paid $90/nite for. There are 2-bedroom condos starting at about $55/nite.

I totally agree with your comment about 4 people in a hotel room. There are only 3 of us and even that is uncomfortable. The offsite suite hotels/condos/homes offer far more space and much greater comfort. Makes for a much better vacation.

Del, were there and resturants near the hotel? What is near the hotel(Walking distance)? How far is Downtown Disney. Did you use the shuttle offered by the hotel? I have ressies for 02/20-02/29/04. In a 2 bedroom suite. Any info on the hotel would be great!

Steve, I'm googling Windsor Palms and have found various websites--is there an official website anywhere (if so, I don't think I've found it!) Who did you go through to make reservations? Thanks in advance for your help!

Let me think:

We also had a 2 bed suite which worked out very well--especially when on Sat night dd#1 woke up sick and worked out well on Sun night when dd#2 woke up sick--I was able to make tea and warm up soup. We had a 1st fl. suite which I recommend since i didn't have to help the little ones up and down the steps (no elev.) We stayed on the corner which was nice--we weren't in front of the pool but still close (20feet). Next to the hotel was an Eckerds drug(bought soup and gatorade) a tony roma's rib place and an olive garden. Across the street was Walgreens, a bit further down on that street was IHOP. On the hotel street further down (1/4 mile), was TGIF, goody's market, chili's, perkins, Mcdonalds, subway hoagies. The "street" was a highway! You have to be careful to cross it---and there was construction on the road too! The noise was not a factor at all--just that the road was uneven.

Downtown Disney would be a walk--maybe 2 miles. My dh and I could do it easy but to bring the dds--i don't think so. We didn't bring our stroller, we had rented ours a the parks which worked out great for us. We did do Downtown Dis our last night for about an hour (dd didn't feel good so we left) but we had a rental car.

The bus situation to the parks ???? We didn't do it. I did look at the schedule which was in the room and commented to dh that --Wow --they don't offer the guests using the buses many times to pick from. I remember the MK bus left at 8am but the first bus back was at 230pm!! That would have never worked for us. By 1:00, we were out of the park, getting ready to swim or nap. I've read on other boards that offsite buses also leave you off further away than the disney transport buses. We rented from Budget. The cars are located at the airport. While i got the bags with 2 dd, dh did the paperwork, got the car and drove around and picked us up--GREAT!!! Driving to the parks took us 20 minutes and then whatever time to grab the monorail or tram. We liked having the flexibility to leave when we wanted. Even late at night after fireworks, the express monorail to TTC was quick and efficient and the trams were constantly moving in the TTC parking lot. Once the bus is full for the hotel, you wait and wait--i can't see that. Just my 2 cents.

The breakfast that is included is full of carbs!!! All breads. The fruit was lousy and the coffee constantly low! You could pay extra and gets eggs that looked burnt. I would eat cereal and a ban. for bkfast. We bought water at the market at goodys shopping center which we would freeze and bring with us in the am.to the parks.

Housekeeping was good and helpful--especially with me and my sick kids. The guest laundry was great--1.50 load washer and dryer each--many machines. I did the laundry by the pool while 2 dd and dh napped in the room!!!

Any other ????'s

floridagirrl2 - I don't believe there is an "official" site. Keep in mind that this is not a resort or timeshare complex, but a neighborhood of privately owned homes. Not every owner chooses to advertise in the same place.

I booked our condo at:
http://www.windsor-palms-resort.com/

I booked directly with the owners, Wendy Capelin and Terry Warren, a very nice couple from Connecticut. If you are interested in a 3-bedroom condo, I'd be happy to give you her direct e-mail address. I know she has to pay a referral fee if you book through the above website.

PM me if I can answer any more questions about Windsor Palms. We were very pleased there and I highly recommend it.

Thanks Steve! I found tons of sites for condos and houses after you inspired me to Google.;) At the moment, I am not looking for a 3-bedroom (it will be just my DH and I going in December), but I will probably be looking for a 3-bedroom next year for the Flower and Garden Festival.

Windsor Palms seems to be a highly regarded complex--some of the places I found on Google had no comments at all on the DIS boards (how is that possible???).
