Hi all!

I figured my first post would be a "just back" one. Always love those threads...

We went the last week of January and we had only one nice day in the parks. The rest were cold and rainy. Oh, well. It was still better than freezing and snowy back home!

Not crazy about the new Magic Express video. I loved the old one and used to look forward to them. I miss the characters piling on the bus and checking in. Bring back the characters!

My family (wife and daughter age 5 and son age 3) stayed at CSR. We loved it. The concierge and reception was a bit snarky, truth be told, but we wrote it off as maybe them having to deal with mostly grumpy convention people. Tried not to let it get to us. The resort is my wife's new fave! I loved it because Panchito and Burrito the Flying Donkey are well represented. We watched nothing but 'Must Do Disney' while in our room and can quote pretty much every line. Watching THAT show is a 'must do' for my family!

First night there we dropped the kids off at the Neverland Club on the last night of it's existence (1/27). SO SAD to see it go. The kids LOVED it and had a blast. My wife and I ate at the Kona Kafe and had a phenomenal meal. We LOVE the Polynesian (just not the prices!!!)

Magic Kingdom is magical...even in the cold rain. And PLEASE don't stress the Magic Bands or FP+...it works and makes things easier! We selected our choices before we left and my wife kept raving how much smoother our trip was. Can't say I could argue with her. So give it a chance.

Main Street: We got to see the Rainy Day Cavalcade parade! That was a nice treat. And have to give a shout out to the Main Street Philharmonic. Seeing them is always a highlight for me. My only complaint for this area would be the new Starbucks bakery. We used to be able to get something for the kids like Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches...no more. Nothing for finicky kids. Instead, they have a display for Starbucks coffee bean bags. Who would buy those at WDW? Seemed like they sold them simply because that's what Starbucks always does...but I think they could shake things up at the Magic Kingdom store and sell something else at that kiosk. My friendly suggestion: More variety for the kids!!

Adventureland: Dole Whip was great in the cold...no lines at POC...no complaints!

Frontierland: Cast members were so nice. Had a blast on Tom Sawyer Island, BTMRR, got to enjoy the Hoedown and we LOVED Pecos Bill's. It was so nice, warm, and dimly lit we loved hunkering down during the rain for a great lunch. I also bought a cute new book called 'Magic Kingdom Storybook' at the Frontierland Trading Post. My kids are loving it.

Liberty Square: Haunted Mansion was amazing...though I noticed Mr. Toad was not in the pet cemetery. Anyone know why?

Fantasy Land: LOVE the new Tangled area. So nice. But I couldn't find Pascal anywhere! They did a great job with this area. As for the rides...FP+ allowed us to get on Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh multiple times which was wonderful. In 'Mickey's Philharmagic' we obeyed the "move down" rule but I was giggling watching others try to get away with sitting in the middle as people shouted them out. Carrousel was so empty we must have rode that thing 6 times in a row without getting off. So much fun. Storytime with Belle was adorable. I'm heartbroken that the video we took of our kids in it didn't come out. Might post separately to see if anyone has a recording of it. We ate dinner in Be Our Guest and were underwhelmed with the food but loved the building. Worth it just to see the inside and meet the Beast. LOVE the Dumbo waiting area. Such a great idea.

Tomorrowland: We love eating at Cosmic Ray's and listening to Sonny Eclipse. I hope they NEVER get rid of him. We got a silly photo at Merchant of Venus with their green screen and love it. Incredibles Dance Party was so much fun. Monsters Inc Laugh Factory was so fun especially since they told my daughter's joke! Am so upset PUSH is leaving. We ALWAYS miss him and I always think "next time." Now...no more next time. I regret not seeing him last week. Lesson learned: If there is something you keep putting off at WDW...DON'T!

We also visited Epcot...it was great. The only bummer was that they discontinued the Three Caballeros merchandise. My heart was SET on getting shirts and mugs. Turns out they stopped selling them 3 months ago b/c no one was buying them.

All in all...a GREAT trip! We can't wait for our next one. Please ask any questions. Happy to answer!

Are you sure? I can't think of a good reason why that would disappear.

Glad you had a great trip, and :welcome:!

I am so glad you had a great time....that was the coldest, and rainiest week we have had in the winter for a while. So glad to hear you made the best of it.

Mr. Toad was in the cemetery at the end of December because we always make a point of looking at him.

PUSH is leaving?? When? We go next week and were so looking forward to seeing him! Great review, thanks for sharing!
