We just got back from our first trip yesterday!! It was amazing... very low crowds, we were able to walk-in to almost all the rides.. Character interactions were great. It rained one day (Monday) when we were at the magic kingdom, but other than that it was very very very hot and humid.

We were able to catch all the parades and fireworks and the Fantasmic shows and it was great. The only long lines were for Character interactions at Epcot and to meet the fairies @ Toontown. Our five year old was thrilled to meet all the princesses at Akershus - There was Ariel, Belle, Cinderalla, Snow white, Sleeping Beauty. We also met Jasmine and Aladdin in Morocco (Epcot), Tiana & Navin (other side of Ariel's Grotto in Liberty Square); Crystal Palace character breakfast was amazing and characters really spent a lot of time with everyone.

Would be glad to answer any questions..

:)

Welcome back! How did Fantasy Land look with all the construction?

We will be arriving Fri and I cant wait!

we are leaving on the 17th and i'm curious, with the low crowds, how bad was the heat and humidity?

we are hoping that since there will not be long lines, we won't wilt as much as we would have had we planned a summer trip.

how did the heat affect your touring? my wife and i would really appreciate your thoughts about how the weather affected your trip!

yeah, september can still be hot and humid! glad to hear lines were short and you had a terrific time! :wizard: how long were you there for and where did u stay?

Construction was very visible and we could see the trucks and dirt especially from the dumbo ride, but my kid didn't notice or mention it... So constructions didn't affect the rides/fun in any way.. Enjoy!!

Welcome back! We leave tomorrow....I am doing the happy dance!
Have fun!!! You would love the low crowds

it was VERY Hot and Humid.. and I grew up in India by the sea and I couldn't stand it... so be prepared for it to be frying hot! That said, have a good misting fan, drink a lot of water, wear a lot of sunscreen and plan to go on some of the cooler shows right after a hot one and you will be good... For example, we did Dumbo twice and then went on Philharmagic,; Went on Kali (with ponchos) and then did the Nemo...you get the drift.

Also, since we were there only for 4 days, we didn't come back to our resort once we left in the morning... Go for a swim, esp when the heat is unbearable between 1.00 and 4.00 or so..

Good Luck!!

Thank you!! We were there from 3rd to 7th.. and stayed at the Coronado Springs.. with the tight schedule, we didn't get to enjoy the resort much though, but it was beautiful

Welcome back!
Thanks!! and have a great time on your trip

Hi, welcome back. Great to hear you had such a good time.

This year we were planning on skipping Fantasmic, as we've seen it the last two years, and because we assume DHS crowds should be thicker (and attractions busier) due to the show.

But yesterday, DD4 told me "Dad, I want to see the show where Mickey dreams, and has nightmares..."

Then again, we are going last week of Sept / First week of Oct, so we should find slower crowds than last year's May.

So, the question is, did you feel DHS busy? Let's leave TSM aside, as it is always crazy busy.

Did you have to stand in line for Fantasmic for a long time prior to the show?

TIA,

Mx

Nice to hear about the low crowds we will be there in 12 days!!!!

That means more hot lapping for rides. :)

so excited to hear about low crowd levels.. well bad for disney.. but GOOD for us! lol.

DHS was a little busy, but not definitely crazy busy.. We did book the Fantasmic package and headed there around 7.45 for the 8.30 show, but we saw people walking in on he non-reserved area until the show started, so you should be ok.. The second show of the day is supposed to be much less crowded, so may be you can try that?

And keep calling for Fantasmic package even if it is full. I was able to get reservation only 3 weeks in advance even though it was full for a couple of weeks before that..

How was the buses to your resort? which building did you stay?
How was your dinning and what was your favorite?
Thanks

Thank you very much for your answer. We'll have a family talk on this issue and decide what to do. This surely helps! :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a great time.

We are going to DisneyWorld in November and planning on staying at Coronado Springs Resort for our first time, we have never stayed in a Moderate, we have only stayed at Beach Club, Yacht Club, BoardWalk and our last trip we stayed at Wilderness Lodge. I love staying in the Board Walk area because of the convenience of entering Epcot and Disney Studio's.

So, my question for you is, tell me about your stay at CSR, am I going to like it? We have a King Room, since it's just my husband and I . Are there lots of bus stops, what are the other stops that the buses go to. I know nothing about this resort except that the rooms are newly remodeled and there is a far walk to the front. How wss mousekeeping? I read somewhere that there are no towel animals. :headache:

I have read some of the information on the thread for CSR, it's very informative, but I'm just a little apprehensive. :confused3 I don't want to spend all my time waiting on a bus or not being able to return to our resort for a short nap and then adventure on over to another park.

We are driving, so I've thought about driving to the parks. :confused3

I just don't know. My heart tells me to return to the Beach Club, but I have always wanted to try CSR. Help :worship:

Thank you,
TexasBelle

How were the lines to meet Tiana and Naveen???
It was raining, but even without that there was only a 5 minute wait.. They were kind of in a hidden spot on the other side of Ariel's Grotto, so not many ppl even knew that they were there, so that helped a lot...

We stayed in Casitas 4 and were very close to bus stop. Though they say there is a bus to the parks every 20 mins, we never had to wait more than 10 minutes.. That said, wisely plan your strategy for coming back quickly. In Epcot, we stayed for the entire Illuminations show and then ran back to the bus stop, but we had to wait for more than 30 minutes and got the 3rd bus back.. so we got wiser and we left about 10 minutes after the the Wishes Fireworks started (you can also pick a spot closer to the entrance and stay a bit longer!) and by the time the final fireworks went up, we were just at the entrance of MK and were able to get the first bus back! So, pick your spots wisely and you should be back at the resort pretty soon

We had 4 TS booked - Akershus Princess lunch, Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic package, Crystal Palace Character BF and Tony's town square. Akershus was the best, followed by Crystal Palace. Hollywood & Vine was not too bad, but I booked it only for the Fantasmic; Tony's town square food was good, but there could be a slightly long wait (it was raining and we had to wait 15 mins.. it was very cold inside and we asked to be seated outside in the terrace. That worked very well in our favor coz we got premium viewing spot for the MSEP.

This is my first trip to disney, so I have nothing to compare, but I have no complaints about the CSR. Bus waits to the parts were next-to-nothing and coming back should not be a big deal if you plan your parade /fireworks /shows viewing and exit sooner. The room size was smaller than I imagined, but it was comfortable. We were able to request and get a microwave when we checked in. We stayed only for 4 nights, so even though we planned to return to the resort for naps and swim, we just kept going, but it should be OK to go back to the resort for some rest, if you really need it.. Go stay at CSR.. the dig site and the pool are awesome! :)
