I just returned from a pretty awesome trip to Universal's Islands of Adventure. Let me just say - remind me to go again this time next year. Their was no lines at all. The longest I had to wait was literally 2 or so minutes to sit in the front on Hulk. There was hardly anyone there and it made for a pretty awesome day. However, some things did happen that made me distrubed and it reminded me, "This is truly not Disney."
One of which happened around lunch. We went in Comic Strip Cafe to eat lunch, hardly anyone was there. After getting a Salad (for me) and a Sandwich (for my sister) I asked very kindly for Ranch dressing. The lady glanced at me, gave me an evil eye, began to roll her eyes and said, "We don't have or serve Ranch." I said, okay. So I left to return to a table to sit down and eat. At this time I notice this lady did not give me my drinks. So I return to her and tell her this. Here was her response, "Well if you were not in a damn rush I would have gave it to you." Now, at this point I turned around looked at another customer standing in like and said - "Woah, you can tell this sure isn't Disney." The customer giggled and nodded in agreement.
Next happened as we were walking around in late afternoon. One castmember (do we call them that?) Asked someone to play a game. This customer said, "No Thanks." The guy kept pushing her to play. She said, "I said No." She then laughed and said, "Watch out I will get you fired." (She was totally joking it was so obvious) The castmember (wearing one of those microfones that everyone can hear) said, "That's fine then I wont have to work at this hell hole for minimum wage." Now, now... Okay - you don't like your job and you get paid a low amount but dude, come one!
I am totally not going to judge my experiece just on these two encounters because I truly did have a good day. Oh did I tell you - I bought a new outfit after getting SOAKED on almost all the water rides. Thanks for the warnings LOL!
