I just got back about 15 hours ago and am now offering up my services and expertise for all....No really - the trip (october 17-22) was perfect you people scared the snot out of me with talk of big crowds - i saw nothing of the sort - walked on almost everything - but from what i hear some people were complaining of long lines that week - but it sounds like they probably made big mistakes - like going to parks on EE day (and staying) - and going to the MK on a saturday - always packed - anyway any questions - answers i got......

This was my plan for our 4 days at the parks, but now I have doubts....

This is for next week: I am staying off site so no EE for me

Tues- MK- only day for spectro- but I read that the MK is a madhouse on spectro days, so should I go somewhere else during the day? I prefer not to hop
Wed- MGM
Thur-AK
Fri- Epcot- now I am worried that there will be a ton of locals there for F & W

Did you go to any waterparks or DQ? If yes, how were the crowds?

I just got back and our trip was 15-21st. Crowds were more than we expected but manageable with fast pass and getting to parks at opening. On the other hand there were surprises. Saturday afternoon at AK was wonderful! I'd never seen so few people and I have a much better impression of AK now. Epcot was very crowded on Saturday for Food and Wine, but was fine on Sunday and Monday nights. We went to DQ twice and both times were GREAT. On Monday afternoon we practically had the place to ourselves. The Thursday before that had been slightly more crowded, but not much! We found the least crowds at DQ right in the middle of the afternoon while everyone else was still doing parks. We didn't try any water parks.

sounds like our experience - we were at AK on Staurday - and showed up early in anticipation of crowds - but the park never filled up - we got to go on most things two to three times. But yes EPCOT did have some crowds - but that was on a saturday - i would imagine that during the week locals stay away that's why i would avoid epcot on friday and saturday nights. As for MK - we went on Monday the day after Mickey's Holoween party - and a non specto day = the only big crowds i saw were in fantasy land between 12 - 4 other than that no long lines.

cvet, did you notice if Timekeeper and Carousel of Progress were open? Have yet to see those and it looks like we'll do a spur of the moment trip next month! Saw rumors that they were going to stay open since Alien is closed.

Thanks, Sharon

yes indeed they were both open - which for me was great - i forgot how much i loved CoP - saw it twice - and timekeeper - well what can i say Robin Williams is always funny - but yes both are OPEN

Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road open yet? Thanks:wave2: :hyper:

nope - not open yet - not sure then when it will - i heard sometime this november

I too am worried about crowds. I remember reading once that Sunday mornings are pretty good for the Magic Kingdom. What do you think of going there this Sunday the 26th? Is that a Spectromagic night?

i think it's a great idea - for me. I'm not sure though what you are looking for - that is a mickey's halloween party night - which means the park closes officially at 6pm with the party to start afterwards. However during the day i bet crowds are down - so you could get to see everything. But no there is no spectro parade that day.

I'm leaving tomorrow, how's the weather? I'm having a difficult time deciding what to pack. Will I need sweatshirts?

Are people mostly wearing "summer clothes"? Around here it's a fashion no-no to wear sandals this late in the year, but I guess the rules are different in Florida?
