make it quick! best room 3093 had wedding gazebo and view of lake from our balcony. last year we paid for water view and could hardly see any water from tiny balcony at BC. kids watched fireworks from room. Too hot and rainy in July and August for us. If you don't like the heat I would suggest choosing another time of year. We usually stay in the first couple of weeks of May. Again, May never any lines. July and August too many lines. 75 minutes for Test Track every time we went to go there. Kids decided that they have ridden it enough anyway. Water parks were shutting down by 10:30 because full. it's always fun to be in WDW but a little disappointing compared to our other trips. Next year we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in July and debating on going that time of year. We put this trip together in a couple of weeks and ps was nonexistent for most dinners I tried for. That made it a little tough. In May we usually wing it and get in wherever we want. any ?'s I'd be happy to answer.

Hi!
Welcome back! We will be visiting the Yc the end of the month. How bad were the crowds at stormalong bay?

we used sab almost everyday and all though it was more crowded than what we were use to it really wasn't bad at all. we would have coffee at quiet pool -7 to 9- and then go to sab for a couple of hours. we had to wait for 16,14,12 kids to wake up. it rained every afternoon so we weren't there.

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great stay!:D Did you book a gardenview room or a waterview room? We leave for Yacht Club very soon. Was the construction at Beach Club confined to one area only, or did it seem pretty spread out? Thanks!

Hi there - Did you dine at Cape May? Just wondering how it was?

Also ~ any problem getting a chair at stormalong bay? and what where the pool hours if you can recall?

Thank you - was this quick enough?? I was typing really fast.

:p

>>^..^<<

Sounds like May is a better month to go for your family. We love the off times. Just not as fun in the crowds and heat. We enjoy being in WDW but LOVE going in the off season. There is no comparision for our family. There is so much more magic for us when we don't have to "rush, be pushed or shoved" up and down main street USA!!!! We will miss when the kids are older and can't be pulled out of school any longer to go in the slow season. Enjoy the rest of your summer.:D

wdwfan - we booked a standard view because that was all that was made available to us. i keep meaning to look it up on the other message board as to what that room was under. the construction seemed to be confined while we were there but it was along the lake view so when you walked you could not help but see it.
>>..<< there is always a wise guy in every crowd. i meant for me to make it quick because i could go on forever. we had dinner two nights at the Cape May Cafe and as always it was great. i believe the pool hours were 9 to 11. definitely 9 - it seemed it was always open later.

Hey, I'm going to the Beach club the day after tomorrow, what are the differences between beach and yacht? thanks!

singheyjude- we stayed BC last May and thought it was great. just back YC and thought it was much nicer. BC lobby is more beach themed and louder. YC is just a little more elegant and less kids - young kids - i thought. BC had no balcony, YC great balcony for drying wet suits on the chairs and for viewing the fireworks.

We were at YC last weekend - we too had a room right over the wedding gazebo, 4th floor, looking straight across to the Boardwalk. I'm pretty sure this was an upgrade from our standard room reservation.

No chair problems at SAB. Lots of wristband checkers on the hotel side but none on the beach side and lots of people on the slide who weren't wearing wristbands. The lifeguard at the top of the slide wasn't checking for wristbands.

I just thought of a silly question for either of ou who just returned!! Did you ride the big slide?? Did you notice if the bumps were gone? (If you had riden it in the past?)
I know they refurbished the slide this year and I wondered if they got the slide to be a bit smoother? I toild you it was a silly question!:)

We just returned from a split stay between AKL/YC Concierge. We absolutely loved both, but especially the YC. We own DVC at BC, but had quite a few pts to use up & splurged on stays at these 2 resorts.

I don't recall any bumps in the slide at SAB (but I had not gone on it previously either) & the lifeguard at the top was checking wristbands. The other nice surprise was finding plenty of chairs at any given time. I had read where this was a problem, but we didn't have trouble at all. I must say, too, that the lifeguards at that pool are top notch! My 7 yr old DS came up missing our first day there. My DH was at the pool w/ them while I was in the laundry ( ), & here comes my daughter & a lifeguard to check & see if he had found his way there. By the time I got to the pool, there he was safe & sound (took a potty break w/o telling anybody), but everybody there knew him by name. All my husband did was mention to one of them that he was having a hard time finding his son & wondered if they had any tips on where he could stand to get a good look around & before you know it they were on high alert. Wow. We appreciated them.

So, sorry to ramble....Tnkrbell--Happy Anniversary & Have an awesome trip!! I'm already planning our next one in June--My oldest DD is marching on Main Street w/ her HS band!

tnkrbell-just asked dd about bumps and she said they were really bad for her. all 90 lbs. of her.

j3mom, go in May next year, and celebrate you anniversary early!!!

I agree with you that May is a much better time to go to WDW! It is one of my favorite times, just gorgeous, and quite manageable crowds, and wonderful weather.
Like you, we usually go in May, but went in July this year instead to celebrate my Birthday. We had a great time, but May is much better overall.

glad you enjoyed the YC, it's my favorite!!! :)

Laura :)
