I just wanted to share some tips as we just got home yesterday
.
We were 2 weeks there - Mar 3rd-Mar 17th. The first week was not bad - steady in the parks but most rides were no more than 20-30 min waits and fast pass worked well. Second week was CRAZY BUSY! By lunch most lines were 60 min (including Winnie the Pooh!). Evidently Ontario's March break is the same as Floirda's and Texas'.
A note about the Year of a million dreams - based on what I had read I expected to see them a least a few times a day in the parks. I have to say that I did not see them once - except the day we actually won a dream - they gave us the Silver Ears (unavailable to buy anywhere) as we exited the Big Thunder Mountain ride - but they were tucked well up the exit ramp so guests would not have seen them giving these out. I would say for the most part - they have made this more subtle - you see the Dream Fastpasses and Ears, but I never saw anyone receiving them unless I was included! I would not expect to see them and if you do, recognize how special this is as I am sure there are MANY guests who do not get anything.
Weather was spectacular all 14 days we were there! Started in the 70's and moved to 80's the second week. No rain and barely any clouds! We lucked out!
Had the chance to see Monsters Inc Comedy club and I have to say it was one of the funniest things we saw - better than Turtle Talk with Crush! I had heard they weren't opening it right away as first expected as they didn't think it was funny enough - well it is now!!
Also TWO BIG THUMBS UP for the Nemo and Friends show at AK. This is a broadway style show and there are actors dressed up and singing while holding a puppet - kind of like the Lion King on broadway! I was even tearing up it was such a beautiful show!! This is a MUST SEE - we stood in a line that wrapped all the way down the walkway and we joined the line in front of the Triceratop Spin and still got in so don't let the lines scare you! Seats are SUPER INCOMFORTABLE so sit in anything - your purse, a sweater, a napkin...they are strips of wood and after 40 minutes your bare skin starts shaping into the seat and it actually hurts to stand up!
We stayed in Windsor Hills for the 2 weeks and it also gets my thumbs up. We have rented many houses but this one was great and thanks to the tip about using Sherbeth Road to get to some of the parks, we shaved time off our drive many mornings.
As for those staying on property - I still say you are CRAZY if you do not use the meal plan! The meals are more expensive than I remember at the parks - we were dropping an easy $60 a day for me, DH, DD6 and DD9 and this is just for counter service LUNCH and some ice cream snacks! Add another 2 meals and you can't even compare it to the value of the dining plan (which we had last year and missed!).
I will do a full trip report soon but in the meantime, you can send me any questions and I will try to answer between unpacking and clearing my work emails!!
I will now be jealous of all of you with coutdowns until your trip!!
