so thanks to Hydro guy for his tips on that!
We got our Woc FP around 11am and it was already the Red section, so we got there early enough to get right down in the splash zone. We've seen the show previously from the blue, one tier up. Now it felt like we were standing right under the water, so a bit of a different perspective. I can really appreciate how high the water is going. Next time I'd like to try a further back perspective. DD and I both love the show, and no we didn't get wet as it was a calm night.
After the show, we start trying to make our way through the thick crowds. It was not easy! There were just 2 of us and we are slender and quick on our feet. LOL. We get to DL main street just as fireworks are ending and have to try and plow through those thick crowds too. We get back to the F! seating area and the first sections are packed solid. I was feeling very defeated, but then, closer to Haunted mansion, right about where the lightpole is down, there was great seating in the front. Wow! I hadn't seen DL F! that close in 5 years, so it was a real treat. The late F! is the way we'll always go now that DD is 9 and able to stay awake.
Some other notes on our trip: DL was crowded and hot. Sunday crowds seemed to be lighter than Mon, Tues. Using the magic morning is a MUST! Sunday morning was so lovely in Fantasyland. On Monday when there was no Magic Morning, the park was packed at 8am. Just such a huge difference.
We saw the fireworks the first night and am still amazed at how much Tink flies. And Dumbo. All so magical.
One evening we saw Lazer Man at the Tron area in CA. It's only a 5-10 minute show, but very, very cool.
I got my first ride walk out! But it was on Snow White. Seriously, how can Snow White break down?! We had to wait a few minutes and then be walked out. Not so scary in the light. LOL.
DD and I were riding single on Calif Screaming and were being loaded into the same car when they told us to all get out. It appears someone barfed in the last car. I saw it as the car went by as they pulled it off the track. ICK! Then DD was afraid to ride screaming again, and very afraid we'd get the purple car. I assured her it was cleaned. I'd hate to have that job!
Goofy's sky school had terribly long lines. 55 minutes. Craziness!
We enjoyed the Mermaid ride, I especially loved how it appeared her hair was moving underwater. Waits were 30 minutes midday, but 5-10 at night. I think this ride will end up like Pooh, rarely ever having a line. It's nice that there are rides like that.
We rode Star Tours 3 times on 3 different days, each by FP that we obtained right after rope drop. That worked out well.
I've concluded that 2 full days plus 2 partial days really isn't enough time! We felt rushed and like we still didn't get to do several things. Didn't get to ride the water ride in CA. On rode Soarin and Haunted Mansion once. DD did get to spend a lot of time on the climbing wall at Calif Adv -- spent over an hour climbing until she had a blister on her hand. About 6:30 pm was a good time to go there as it had cooled off a bit. Actually the evenings were so nice and cool I look forward to when she can stay up later and still get up for rope drop. Overall a great trip!
