Hi everyone!! Just back last night from our very short "Adult ONly" getaway...less than 48 hours total ....If anyone is every thinking about doing something like this....we had a blast!!
Let me start out by saying that the only DVC resort we have stayed in so far is BWV ( mostly because of availability) and we own at BCV. I love the theming of these resorts and also OKW...I would have probably picked the VWL atmosphere as my least favorite,,,i just like the beachy type theme...HOw could I have been so wrong ??? This resort was just awesome!! I can't wait to bring the boys back...they will love it!!
NOW , I originally had a studio booked at OKW, but at one week out , I changed to a one-bedroom and all that was available was VWL. We arrived Sunday evening at the resort around 7:30...checked in and to the room we went....what a great place for a romantic getaway...just walking down the path to the villas was beautiful!! My ds was in his glory!!...This resort is perfect!
NOw originally we had a night with dinner and Pleasure Island planned but we were just so tired when we got there ( worked that day 4 am till noon) so we just got a bite at roaring forks and took in the atmosphere at the lodge . ( and took advantage of the jacuzzi)
On monday we did do DISNEY COMMANDO ! We were just so excited to be able to move around the World without the ds', stroller, diaperbags etc...Although seeing all the other family's did make us feel guilty ( for about one minute...lol..)
We had break. at the WCC and then headed to Epcot ...did some things there including Lunch in Morocco...which was great!!
Then we headed back to VWL for a drink at the pool and to get refreshed . HEaded over to MK around 5. NOw it was really crowed there ! I was surprised because Epcot seemed really empty...We got fast pass for Space Mountain and just really walked around...But we had a great viewing of Wishes...right in front of Walt and Mickey statue...It was exactly the scene I had in mind when planning the trip!!
After that we took the monorail to the Poly and had one of the best dinners we have ever had at WDW at the KOna ...and the dessert.....We finished our dinner around 10:00...could have never done that with the kids!
Tuesday , we just had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare , spent two hours at MK...not crowed at all...walked right on SM and BTMRR and a few other things and headed back to VWL..the FL tours carpicked us up at noon.
If anyone is ever thinking of maybe doing a very short trip like this and can...I highly reccomend it!! Even though it really was only one day...it really did seem longer...( esp.leaving the kids at home) With the AP and if you have the points...its really only the airfare and meals....Yes we did spend the $$$ this time especially on the meals but it was great !!
