Hi! We are just back from 5 nights at VWL and 2 nights at BC. Supposed to be 3, but left early due to Dennis. We had a great time at VWL, such a wonderful place. So relaxing and great access to many things to do around MK resorts. We ate at Chef Mickeys, had a fireworks cruise on July 3 for Fantasy in the Sky, ate at O'hana and saw both MK parades. We also got to see the regular Wishes at MK later in the week. Spent most of our time at BC in the pool and at EPCOT. We did eat dinner at Cape May, and it was very good. We never could get into Beaches and Cream for the famous hamburgers- too crowded. We only spent part of one day at MGM to see the stunt show, I wasn't that impressed. We didn't get to see Fantasmic due to leaving early, but saw Illuminations on the 4th - best fireworks -show I've ever seen- regular Illumination plus another 15 minutes of patriotic type. We rode Soarin' twice - finally got DH to ride the 2nd time- we all loved it and would have ridden again if time had allowed. This is the best ride ever. Not scary at all. Rode Dinosaur - once was enough! Any questions for me?

Which resort did you like better...I will be staying at VWL in Jan. but we are debating on whether to split the stay up between BC and VWL or just stay 8 nights at VWL....

I really enjoyed our time at the Villas. We had a one bedroom, and at the BC we had a regular room, so I'm not really comparing fairly. I just loved the atmosphere in the lobby at WL, walking around the resort. The bike path to FW. It just was more my style. The kids loved both pools, but the slide at SAB was definitely a hit with my DS12. We also enjoyed the quiet pool and hot tub at the Villas a lot. The lobby at BC was always very very busy, check in felt very businesslike. We never could hit Beaches and Cream at a time when it wasn't packed. We hate the buses, but never had too long a wait at WL. The only time we waited at all was for AK one afternoon, and after Illuminations on the 4th of July which was expected. I like the location of the BC, but overall, the WL is my favorite resort so far.

Glad you had a good time. What room did you get at BC? How did they do with your room requests?

IF all goes well with DHs surgery Aug 9th
DS13 & I will be staying 8nights VWL and 6nights BCV in Aug

We had room 4703. This room was a standing room only balcony with a daybed. Pretty good location, and good view I guess. Long hallways. I had booked a standard view, but the lady at the front let me have a waterview, though limited. We had a tree right in front of the window. This room was above the flat roof of B & C and the arcade. We could see the pool and the Boardwalk. To be honest, my balloon was kind of deflated when I arrived at the BC. I had tried to switch to Poly after eating at O'hana earlier in the week. CRO had no rooms available at the Poly, but the man told me I had somehow gotten a comp upgrade to concierge at the BC. Pixie Dust was whirling around my head! When I got there, this was not happening. Resort was full, and I couldn't even pay for an upgrade. But she did let me pick between a couple to rooms with good locations. I was not mad, just a little disappointed after having bragged to family, etc.

Also to their credit, we had planned to leave on Mon. morning, but Dennis kind of changed our plans. I called to see if they could find me a room for Monday night (driving to IL among tornados, driving rain, massive flooding etc. was not in my plans). They had no rooms at BC or YC for Monday night, so they said if I was out by 11:00 Sunday, to try to beat the storm home, they would reimburse for Sunday night. So that's what we did. Was very relieved about that. Made leaving early a little more bearable.

NewHolidayx2- You will truly have the best of both worlds in my opinion. I would consider BC Villas for access to pool and location, but I was just not all that impressed with the actual theming of the BC. Everyone was very nice, got a bunny washcloth, met Art, had a great dinner at Cape May. AKL and WL are just more to my taste. My DS will become a teenager in Oct. Can we come with you? LOL- I'm not celebrating this milestone, he used to be so sweet

That's just mean! I wonder why they would tell you that? I would have been just as disappointed as you. I love the decor of BC but won't risk not getting a full balcony. It's too important to my DH.

We're thinking of trying WL nex't year. I'm glad to hear that went well.
