Just back, Vero, BCVs, OKW

I just flew home a few hours ago from the most fantastic 11 days at BCVs, Vero Beach and OKW. Add to the mix I was also at Drum Corp finals at the Citrus Bowl.

I will post a report in the next couple of days. Cliff Note version is that everything was AWESOME (OK the weather was rainy), I did notice a lot of garbage AND dirty linen in the halls at the BCVS late at night when we were dropping off and picking up our sons. I also was able to see the SSR model.

More later......I had to post my new countdown before I unpacked!!!

So who won the DCI Finals? And do you remember how Phantom Regiment placed (DS has friends associated with them and a good friend who sprained her ankle Memorial Day weekend and had to come home)? At BCV, what was your room #? How was the view? OKW?

As to the DCI finals... Here are the results:

1. Blue Devils
2. Cavs
3. CADETS!
4. Phantom Regiment
5. Santa Clara Vanguard

those were the top 5! Blue Devils won almost all caption awards except for best percussion...the CADETS won that!

I gotta admit-that's really what I wish the Phantom Regiment had won. They got a new percussion director this year (from DS's school) and it really would have been great if they'd won his first year. Change can be hard.

I will tell you that Phantom Regiment's show was the best on the field this year. It was a real crowd pleaser!!
