Overall it worked out very well. I had one discrepency--on one of our last nights with DDP I had 5 CS to use before midnight--tried to use them at EOS and they could give me 4 but the fifth one was denied. I was too tired to deal with it and really had better than broken even so I really didn't care and didn't follow it up, but for those of you who may need that information it looks like indeed you are being restricted to the mumber on the card per "Meal period".

Pretty much for us all 4 of us are considered adults so no issues with kids menus, I break the trip up into a few segments

5 nights 1BR OKW with DDP
2 nights studio OKW no DDP (ate at non participating places like HOB)
5 nights 1BR OKW with DDP
2 nights Ply CL (my 40th bday gift from DH) no DDP

We did a total of 2 signature meals (AP and CG)
Usually shared three CS among the four of us and scrambled to finish snack credits on both "last days"
Only OOP expense while on DDP was alcohol and pastries in France that stayed under $150
Found nearly all places significantly noisier than other trips, found a few places where the turn around time on tables seemed almost desperate to get rid of you so the next group could be seated--Mama Melroses, Coral Reef and
'Ohana--these were also the only places I did not leave additional tip.
Any questions just ask.

HI,

Glad to hear you had a great trip!:cheer2: Can you tell me about Artist's Point? What did your party eat there and do you think it was worth 2 TS credits?

Thanks!:goodvibes

Well worth the 2 credits at AP--our bill would have been $258.00 for the four of us. DH and I added wine pairings (21 each plus tip), but those were on a seperate bill. Let's see if I can remember what each person had...My DD 12 had the mixed green salad, Buffalo steak and Hazelnut chocolate torte, DS 15 had the venison spring rolls, cedar plank salmon (some kind that only comes once per year and we were at the last few days of availability on it)and the artist point cobbler, DH had the Duck Confiet, Cedar plank salmon, and the chocolate hazelnut torte and I had the mushroom soup, pan seared scallops and artist point cobbler.
Everyone raved about the food and of course the best part of DDP getting to order exactly what you want and then being able to share a taste of different things if people want to share. The salmon was declared the best that DS and DH had ever had, no one was sdisappointed in what thy ordered, DD ate nearly the whole buffalo steak--which I didn't figure she would do, and her brother finished it for her (still not sure where he put it all). The service was devine and the meal lasted about two hours with all courses being brought out separately and with beautiful presentation. Without a doubt we will return. I added tip here to bring the base tip included on the DDP and included on the wine pairings to 25%.

The places we ate were varied and I would return to most, but I think it is time to take a rest from 'Ohana and Coral Reef. Service and food were only so so and certainly not what we have become accustomed to while dining. I might give Mama Melrose's another chance.
The other places we dined on the DDP and I would return to are:
Spoodles
Bistro de Paris (though the desserts are beautiful they were rather tasteless but the meal itself was very good)
Tony's (we'd taken a break of about 11 years from here) the food service and atmosphere were wonderful)
and of course AP and CG--my favorite!

OOP (on days we did not have DDP) we ate at LTT for lunch--a MK gem!
I will do this again
HOB never a disappointment except the more "generic" drink menu they have now--that was a bit of a letdown. Our server though very pleasant was new and did an ok job, well, we all have to learn sometime! No major mess ups and the food was delivered efficiently, but no offer for a second round of drinks or a third to go! (I'm sure he'll learn as these are the things that do bring the tip up!).

For CS we kind of hit wherever we were and what we wanted, becasue the kids are older we also did a few where one or two ate and the others didn't until they were hungry.
MK
Casey's--fries and hotdogs are now a combo meal--so no worries about fries
Cosmic Ray's
Pinocchio's
Peco's Bills
DS had some tacos OOP at EL Pirata

AK
Flametree
Pizzafari (2 CS for pizzas and 2 snacks for breadsticks filled the four of us!)

MGM
Studio Catering Co

EPCOT
China
France
Mexico
Germany
England
Sunshine Seasons
Snacks used in Norway's bakery

DTD
Earl of Sandwich

Other
Peppermarket (not worth the trip unless you are already there--quantity and high $$ but we found everything to be of very low quality)Spent a DVC day poolhopping so we were already there.
Captain Cook's
Good's to Go
Leaning Plams (Typhoon Lagoon)

I think you were denied the 5th CS meal because there were only 4 people in your party. The DDP does not let you buy more than the amount of people in your party at one time.

But to avoid that you could have just gone to another register and paid DDP there for the one meal. We did that at Pop in June and it was no problem.

We will be trying it for the first time in Sept. I'd love to hear what you all ordered, and what you enjoyed. TIA!

I'm thinking it was most likely "Copper River". The best in my opionion...so sad that it now costs about $20 per pound here in WA State. I remember when it first started showing up years ago (before it was soooo popular) and you could eat it for a decent price. It is YUMMO though!

We are trying this for the first time in Feb. Thank you for the update. We will have a 9 year old with us. All I hear is good stuff about the plan. It shuld be fun to plan for the TS. Thank you again.

Sorry, slighlty O/T...I was able to get my last batch for $8.99/lb @ the Portland Costco. We actually bought some of the cedar planks to grill it on and it was delicious!

Actually we did just that I ordered 4 sandwich meals and then about a half hour later we went to get a salad to go and it was denied. It really didn't work for me--we had more than broke even and I realy didn't care so I didn't persue it.

6:30 pm at MM and we checked in about 10 minutes prior, we were seated within 5 minutes. Drink orders were taken promptly and filled then appetizer and entree orders were taken.

Both kids ordered the breads and spreads--a very nice selection and way more than one person could finish. DH had the calamari--I tired it and it was fresh and tasty not chewy. I had the bruscetta. Entrees were brought out in a timely fashion, but drinks remained unrefilled. DH had the Oven Baked chicken parm--very good, DD had the steak, DS had the four cheese flatbread and I had the penne ala vodka. My pasta was a little too aldente and when I mentioned it the wiater siad they always cook the pasta that way--well I doubt that it is still supposed to have a crunch to it so I doubt it--he didn't return until he cleared the plates, then took dessert orders--I ahd the frozen cappacino, DH had espresso and the kids each had gelato. My frozen cap came out about 20 minutes before the kids and DH's . Still drinks were needing refills. Refills were offered when the desserts arrived but never arrived. Overall the food was good except for the undercooked pasta that was nere resolved. Service was subpar, but I would return and persue the undercooked pasta should it happen again with a bit more vigor, as well as hopefully get a different waiter.

Yes, that is what it was--there was a wonderful article on it that they gave us to read and pass around. DH and DS said it was the best they have ever had as well.

Wait I am confused i was told by the cm booking my package u can use your credits anyway u want. I have a ts meal for luch booked and a ts meal for dinner in one day. Is the dinner ts going to be rejected now because i already used a ts at lunch?:confused3

No, you will not have a problem. The problem lies with "meal period" I ordered four CS meals and within a half hour I went back for a fifth. If you wanted to you could use TS for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you'll be fine, very full, but fine;) . You shuld be able to use them as you please until they are exhausted.

OMG Scallops are my favorite LOL! Can you tell me how big the portion was? Sometimes restaurants make the scallop portions so small.
