I can honestly say I have NEVER seen Disney like this. OK, so EPCOT did have it's busy moments - like fireworks and F & W was a little busy...

But Monday night I had dinner at a character meal at the Swan with 2 other families and then went on the boardwalk and quite literally was THE ONLY ONE out and about. OK, there was a slight drizzle but it was 80+ degrees and gorgeous out!!

Tuesday night I had about an hour to jump on a couple of rides so I thought I would give Soarin a try - I was on in 5 minutes. Then walked on Spaceship Earth. Went back over to boardwalk and it was a little more busy - perhaps 100 people total milling about. But I saw people on those bikes just whizzing by since there was noone to slow down for.

I can see why people go at this time of the year - but man it was HOT and HUMID! If you are on your way in the next couple of weeks I think it will be amazing.

BTW, the TREX retaurant at DTD looks cool and opens next week!

I miss going this time of year. It is probably the best time to go near the end or mid October.

And if you think that was hot and humid, try going during August! I thought I was going to melt!

I 2nd that vote on HOT in AUGUST :thumbsup2

I kinda like to have it somewhat crowded when we go - it lends to the atmosphere. When we were there for our 1st trip in Feb 2007 it was also "dead" with little to no-one milling about.

I have a DH who loves heat.....previously we had gone in December and when we went in mid-late September last month, he LOVED it! He was all about the pools. That may lead to serious repercussions if I never get to see the holiday decorations again b/c we have to go when we "KNOW we can SWIM"!:rotfl2:

The weather is humid but compared to July when we were here last, this is actually tolerable. I am staying at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club on International Drive. This is our first time here, but compared to Disney I think their service is even better (I stayed at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge last). We will try to venture to MNSSP later, F and W tomorrow. This is the Columbus Day weekend so it is kind of busy (airport, etc.). We shall see how the parks are.

princess: :wizard: please tell us how your trip goes!!!:wizard:

That's great news to hear.....we're leaving tomorrow.....and although we know Epcot will be busy with the F&W, we're hoping the other parks won't be as busy and won't have long lines to wait in.

We just got back on Tuesday and there were no line ups anywhere. Other than toy story Mania. Which I think is the only place we used fast pass. Weather was in the high 80's but there was always a breeze so it was great. Only 1 day that was horribly hot and humid, but by 4 pm it would rain like crazy and it was ok.

That was great for you! What I find "just our luck", is that we have for many years gone at exactly the time you were there and usually returning tomorrow, and it has been fairly busy, but not dead quiet!

With F&W and the MNNSHP on, I didn't believe it would be that quiet but yeah, we walked onto every ride (except Toy Story as pp said)! It was great! We stayed away from the parks on the weekends, though, so that helped too.
It was very humid, but I found the cloud cover helped to keep the heat from becoming unbearable, and it only rained in the late afternoon or evening which was great!
