:lmao: I think you misread that: HE offered to buy me the drink I'm not buying him anything :goodvibes but I would join you both and your families/

Thank your BIL for us the USMC family

LOL--Don't know why I thought you were a guy.

And I won't hold it against you that ya'll are a Marine family. Some of my best friends are Marines. But bil is a Major in the USArmy-finance division. Apparently, the Army has to have good accountants. For Army day 2010, we were in Orlando and we left Disney to go listen to the newest information regarding the finances of the Army. Very interesting. He received an award for service. This is him with my kids:

And when they refuse to give you a refund will you just leave the park on your own and not return? I mean you have to keep your dignity in tact right?

better than being escorted out like this....

If I didn't get a refund, I would leave and go to a different park. Most of the problems are in the MK. I would also go with a picture of them while they were jumping the lines. It is good to take a picture of what is happening, so Guest Services can see exactly what is going on. In the case of one pulling my child's arm, while I would not be able to get that exact picture, it is likely I can still get one of them climbing over a seat or doing it to another guest... I would also see if there were any witnesses to what happened and have their names to take along too. If my child was touched & Disney did nothing about it, I would ask for the police to come..and I would give them the names of the witnesses.. maybe something would happen at that level.. don't know what without the tour groups name, but maybe Disney can provide it since they sold them the passes.. who knows.. but that is how to get it in the media, not my extracting & getting yourself arrested.

If nothing is done at the park level, I would have the names of CM's I spoke to and write to the corporate office. No, not to get the CM's in trouble, to to show that I did report it & they could verify with guest relations. I would also send corporate the pictures I took. Pictures are worth a 1,000 words.. and will go along way with a complaint. With that being said, I am a pass holder, I doubt I would get a refund since it isn't a one day pass or just a multi-day pass, so I wouldn't hold my breath. I would as I said, still contact corporate and tell them what happened to see if they would do something about it..

A bit presumptuous but okay.

I mentioned that at the beginning of the thread, when there weren't a lot of posters involved in the discussion. We've been going for 10 years straight each July for 2 weeks. We are Annual Passholders, so we are in the parks each and everyday of those 2 week trips. That's a lot of park hours, and a lot of Brazilian tour groups that we've been around!

I have not been bothered by the groups at all, after logging thousand of park hours, so I find it funny when people who have gone 1x to WDW for a total of a few days or a week, have declared the Brazilian tour groups to be the worst thing ever to hit WDW. LOL!

Tiger :)

Oh, I have no patience for these or any rude people in Disney or anywhere, having been unfortunatly related to some brazilians, in plain english most of them are ignorant and think it is okay. They laugh at the way they threat :dumb" Americans. If we are so dumb stay out of America! So embarrasing for the good ones though, and yes there are some.

We get it. You have said over and over and over that anyone who thinks the Brazilian tour groups can be a problem are wrong. Based on your infinite experience you are qualified to speak for all in every July situation. We have established your incredible tolerance and omniscence. :worship:

I sent you a PM along with other like minded Americans here I value your family .loved the pictures..even though Army :lmao: my DD and my DSIL are both USMC Majors I'm sure they'd all be shocked here but that's enough I'm not restarting Food Network for the 4th time

and instead of commiserating about a problem it becomes attacks on innocent people.

Physical violence in a park is going to get you kicked out. Assuming people's occupations from a comment on the Dis about tour groups is just ridiculous. Insulting entire careers is rude- especially careers in education.

I certainly don't condone the rude behavior of the tour groups. As I said before, my friend is Americanized Brazilian and she says that they make her embarrassed to be Brazilian. Many of the groups are rude and Disney needs to deal with them. Disney has enough security and undercover security that if it got to that point, I would hope they would act. Most of the problems are not physical; they are problems like cutting in line, not following rules, and the endless, annoying chanting.

True. And I've seen it in some of the Brazilian Tour groups, as well as American groups. Rudeness is not isolated to groups from certain regions of the world. It's all over.

Line cutting I try to ignore. Being unintentionally pushed, yep I'll ignore that too, because in the grand scheme of things, it's not that big of a deal to me.

Maybe this thread would be more productive if some would suggest solutions that don't involve confrontation? The CM's are apparently helpless and it sounds to me like some people have had enough. I personally tend to move the other way if I see a group and I certainly avoid June and January. Any other ideas?

Why do you try to avoid January? Is there a specific group there in Jan.? Are you referring to the marathon crowd?

 oh brother THAT's how you see standing up for yourself ?

May want to change the American Flag avatar

no it isn't how I see standing up for myself.. it was meant not to resort to violence.. boy.. guess there are many here that cannot see that..

push, shove, move, extract, do what I have to, how ever one wants to say it, you don't resort to a physical confrontation.. that is my point.. overly exagerated

Nope, never said wrong at all. I have said a million times, that if indeed people have been physically accosted or abused, then that is wrong, and needed to be taken up with Disney at that moment. I have said a million times, that not 'all' Brazilan tour groups are horrible and awful. I have also said a million times how just because I haven't experienced any physical altercations, it doesn't mean they haven't happened.

How can I speak for you if I have never interacted with you? If you say you were injured by a Braziliain teen for instance, then that's a problem. I don't generalize at all - I deal with the situations at hand. In my multiple July experiences, neither I, my hubby nor kids have had any problems at all with physical safety. Does it mean I won't in the future? Don't know about that, as my crystal ball isn't working tonight. LOL!

I am not speaking for anyone else but myself - I have been in the thick of the tour groups and not had any problems at all. I also mentioned that I was in the parks from July 1 - 12th, and there weren't many tour groups at all in attendance. A few CMs even commented that it was a bit quieter, based on this thread though, it seems as if they arrived the day we left for Vero, or the next day. So, in fairness to the rest of you who just returned, we didn't have that many tour groups to deal with. Saw way more family reunions/Grand Gatherings the 2 weeks we were there.

That doesn't mean that I am speaking for all July goers, but remember, all of you July goers don't speak for me either.:thumbsup2

Tiger :)

and that wasn't directed to him.. but to anyone who would resort to violence in stopping a line jumper..

Anyone who resorts to violence, whether it's trying to stop a line jumper or anything else, will be promptly removed from the park, as they should be.

Well, given that you chose that particular picture, all I can say is that boy did I have you pegged! :rotfl2: I'm off to bed to dream about November and chuckle softly. :grouphug:

a pictures worth as 1,000 words they say....go watch food network and answer your damn PM ;)

We just got back. I too have been to Disney in July many times. I have had to deal with huge crowds and Tour groups before. They have gotten worse every time we have gone in July. I used to agree with what Tiger 926 said earlier about not having a great deal of trouble out of these groups. They did not seem to be extremely rude in the past. The only noticeable thing was the chanting and that never bothered me. We generally were able to steer around them and miss them. Fast passes were not affected.

Something has changed here. This trip there were no less than 11 different and VERY large tour groups. All but one was from Brazil. They rendered fast pass virtually useless to most other guests. They broke in line but there was an epidemic of that by all types of guests this trip. They were EXTREMELY rude and arrogant. One nearly assaulted my daughter to get to a counter to view a ride picture. The CM present at the counter attempted to get this girl to wait in line. The girl simply refused by continuing to push all others out of her way and stuck a $10 bill out in the CM's face while leaning over the counter. The CM just waited on her first simply to get her out of the way. Two boys with the same group laid down in the store of Space Mountain blocking anyone else from getting to items on the shelf. They fell asleep on the floor. The CM's did nothing. The tour group leaders came in and out and saw them. They did nothing. Many other group members just plopped down wherever they felt like it blocking off doorways and shelves. I saw a tour groups leader with two huge stacks of tickets running fast passes for group members for Space Mountain. The fast pass times went WAYYYY quick. Again I have seen tour groups before but this was out of control. These incidents were only a few examples of the horrible behavior and troubles in dealing with these groups. We will not be going back to WDW in July as a result of this.

actually her pic was the only appropriate one that came up in my first google.. and when I say appropriate, I mean to put on this board not reflecting oh her..
