Hi everyone. Just a brief backround info. We took the tour last year, was mis informed by our guide, was kind of "pushed" into VB, we were in the process of purchasing and then cancelled. We were looking into a resale or waiting for the BCV. We took the tour again so we can get a different guide, someone we would "click" with better. Well, we are glad we did. His name is Edwin and he was great! Straight foward type of guy, not the sales man type at all. Took the time out to go through the whole program again with us, showed us the model rooms and stressed to us how it is important to buy where you plan on staying the most. We were told by him, and 2 other DVC employees at different times that the BCV will most likely pre sell in Jan.2002. This is what we were told, and it is not written in stone, but they said WLV will be sold out within a month or so and then they will not have a DVC on property to sell. They are in the middle of getting all the "paper work" and approvals they need to sell the time share in Fl. We were told that the BCV will be very popular and will sell out quicker than WLV. Most people that are already DVC members are looking to do an add on at the BCV. He put us on the call back list for the pre sell of the BCV. He also said the point chart would be like the BWV and that the price should be $80-$85 per point and the dues will be about 20 cents more per point than the WLV. We did go over to the BC to check out how the villas were coming along and took some pictures that I will have my DH post for me(still don't know how to use the scanner!!) They are really coming along well and it looks to be a beautiful resort. Some rooms look like they will have a great view of Epcot. If you have any questions please ask, my mind is drawing a blank right now and I hope I included everything we were told but could have forgotten something. So, ask and maybe I'll have an answer!

Just out of curiosity, who was your first guide? I ask because ours tried to push VB too.

Desnik... Wow you certainly got a lot of info out of you guide about BCV. I am also planning on purchasing into BCV as soon as they become available and haven't been able to get that much information out of my guide. Was he pretty confident about the point charts being the same as VWL? Did he mention as to when he thought that BCV would be available for members to make reservations? I was there on October 1st and took a look at BCV. Have they cleared anymore of the jungle that was behind the new villas out yet?

P.S. I know a lot of people are really interested in BCV info, you might want to add on to the end of the subject of this thread to say ... Some BCV info

Thanks again for the information.

My first guide was Caryn Anderson, and I have no problem giving out her name because we made it very clear to her and other DVC reps about how we had a few problems with her. Our guide did not mention when BCV will be ready for members to make ressies, but he seemed very confident in his info telling me that he was 99% sure of it. He said the BCV point chart will be like the BWV, I don't know if they are the same as WLV, but he just mentioned BWV. I didn't get a good look at the back of the villas, we were there at night, then we went back during the day and took pictures of the front. I do remember that you can clearly see Epcot from behind them.

Thanks again. I did mis-read the part about the points charts. Thanks for clearing that up. Although, WLV point charts are the same as BWV preferred view points.

Thanks for sharing the info!! Hope we will get more to share when we go down in five weeks. Your story sounds like ours, only we weren't patient, after cancelling VB we bought BWV resale to get started and are waiting to add on at BCV.

Yes Thanks for the info on BCV. I will pass along anything I fanangle out of the guide when I take the tour during my stay in Jan. Hell they may even be for sale and I could be letting you know I am one of the first in on the presales. Wouldn't that be nice?

I knew I forgot one more thing I was told by my guide as well as another DVC CM. They said that pool hopping at SAB will be a thing of the past once BCV opens. I don't know how true this is, but if I'm paying alot more to buy at BCV then I would want some kind of extra perk, like SAB being only for BCV and YC/BC guests. When we were there that pool area was so crowded, and it wasn't even that hot out. I can't imagine how busy it is in the warmer weather!

We were in WDW about a week ago and one DVC rep said that DVC members often have even more information than the guides do about the new properties. Anyway, I tried to fanagle some ideas on floorplans and square footage from three different guides but none of them could or would give me any information on that. They all claimed to not know. I would assume that the size of them would be like the BWV and VWL, but what about the floorplans. Like the VWL.....anyone have any ideas or more reliable info??

I'm not sure about the floor plans but, like VWL, they did announce there would be no Grand Villas.

friskykitten, There is a 2 bedroom over at the Boardwalk that is decorated just like what the new BCV will look like, it is going to be the model for BCV when they start to show them. They just won't let any of us see it yet. All the DVC CM's have seen it, they just are not allowed to tell yet. I tried really hard when I was down there to get into see it, but it didn't work.

They said that pool hopping at SAB will be a thing of the past once BCV opens. I don't know how true this is, but if I'm paying alot more to buy at BCV then I would want some kind of extra perk, like SAB being only for BCV and YC/BC guests.
I have no idea whether or not this will be the policy, but I'd be surprised if it was. Remember, DVC is a club. Points that were purchased at OKW for $50 have the same "value" as those purchased at WLV for $75. And unless they choose to not make BCV part of the current DVC, and start a DVC II, those $50 points will have the same value as $80 BCV points. If a DVC room requires 25 points, it will still be 25 whether BCV or OKW points are used. That's the way DVC works.

Like I said, I have no idea if there will be an exception for SAB, but there never has been such an exclusion in the past. And I think that it's a big mistake to assume that "paying more = extra perks".

I'm familiar with those threads, and they are all speculation. So it may or may not happen, and none of us know for sure. But if it does, I think it would be to protect SAB from over-crowding. It would not be, IMHO, because BCV owners paid more. That's the idea I was trying to get across. If someone doesn't understand that all points are valued the same, they may be very unhappy campers later when they DO find out.

I think it is unreasonable to start differentiating between different 'types' of DVC members - as long as they're currently staying in a DVC property on points, they should be able to use ALL of the DVC perks, including hopping to SAB. Those of you who are in favor of this, think to where it would lead. Right now we all have access to all of the DVC properties, this could be the beginning of a slippery slope that would have extremely negative consequences for all of us down the line.

My gut feeling, and hope, is that they would not implement such a policy. Hopefully the guide got the other policy, that BC will no longer be offered as part of the Disney Collection, confused with this pool hopping policy, and unknowingly misinformed Desnik. (Please, please, please)

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Animal Kingdom Lodge is excempt from pool hopping privelages.

Dumbo, you are correct. AKL was the first pool to be excluded. At the time they said "possibly in the future" it would be added to pool hopping.

Thanks Pam, for the clarification. Now if they will only remove that exemption forbidding elephants on the golf courses!!!!! :smooth:

I am not sorry that we bought DVC when we did (almost 1 year ago) but our guide was also Caryn, and I do feel she pushed VB, which is what we ended up buying.

I am waiting to add on at BCV - which would have been my first choice regardless had it been available (we love BC and Epcot). How easy or difficult is it to change guides?

While Caryn has seemed nice enough, I can see after a year of conversing with all of you that there was definitely some of what I would call misleading comments made.

Been out of the loop for a few days. Thanks for the information.
