Hello all,
DH and I just returned this evening from our stay at the YC. We were supposed to return yesterday, but extended our stay an extra day after losing time from Jeanne. I'll post some full trip reports (including our concierge stay, and meals, including V&A!).
As far as Jeanne was concerned, we went into a lock down on Saturday evening. It was strange because on Friday, it seemed as though Jeanne would hit the coast, then Saturday, we could tell it was coming toward us. Everything got canceled on Saturday (including our dinner at La Nouba shows!!!). Sunday was the same. We woke up to very strong winds, and a flag from the top of the YC falling to the ground with a loud banging noise. We watched shingles fall off the roof all day. WDW was showing movies on 3 different channels, and had the YC Galley open for limited buffet from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All meals were about $19 per adult (was too much if you ask me!). They were also serving alcholic bevs in the lobby in the afternoon on Sunday. They had entertainment (magic shows, and Minnie even showed up). We were able to walk a bit on the grounds late Sunday night around 10pm, but didn't fully get out until Monday morning. During the whole storm, the management kept leaving messages on the voice mail systems in the room, updating us on the conditions.
The damage at the YC was minimal - mostly to the roof. The flag from the roof feel too, and the BC lost a street lamp. Lots of trees around all over the place. A huge tree fell along the path to MGM and we had to climb over it Monday, but this morning they were in there clearing it out.
Please feel free to ask questions if you have any, and I hope to have some trip reports up in the next few days.
katie
