How did you find housekeeping at POFQ? I heard a couple of not-glowing reviews lately, enough that we opted not to book there for our upcoming trip...I like that resort and was sad to hear the poor feedback.

Also, would love to see a picture of your dd's Fawn costume...my dd was Fawn last year when we went to MNSSHP

and, Sweet Baby James, what just fell in my lap???? : On our 2nd ride of ToT of the night, just before the ride ended, during one of the drops, something plopped in my lap. I mean, PLOPPED. I felt it hit my lap, so much so that I thought it was someone's hat, mickey ears, something like that. I reached down to see what it was, and THANK GOD it was pitch dark and I was strapped in....because whatever it was had legs and it WRAPPED ITSELF AROUND MY FINGERS!!!! I shrieked like a demon and flung whatever it was off into the blackness. My apologies to anyone it may have hit
Really, I freaken hate spiders and crawly things...so if I hadn't been strapped in I would have leaped off the ride, and if I could have seen what it was I would have had nightmares for months. I don't want to know what it was. Gah!!!

O.M.G.!!!!!! That gave me the creepy crawly heebie jeebies!!!!! I'm glad you couldn't see it either! I would have done the same. EEEEK!

Just a quick review on our trip from Sept 13-21!

The Place: We stayed at POFQ. LOVED this place!! Love the ambiance, the pool, the room (building 1 backside towards parking lot), the food court, the crowd level (low), everything! We will definitely stay here again.

The Food: As usual, not too shabby. Huge portions of course. We took advantage of the free dining. Tried new places this year, The Garden Grill, Tony's, and Liberty Tree Tavern. The Garden Grill was just...meh. The characters were fun and came around several times, the food was good, but not quite our forte. Tony's I loved! If you like italian food, I think you'll like Tony's. Liberty Tree Tavern was an all around complete LOVE from my entire group. The food was awesome. Sci Fi Dine In we will skip next time...we've done this once before, and this time it took freaken forever to get our drinks, food, desert, bill...everything. It was nuts. The food, eh. It's also tough having a tween who doesn't want (and is too old for)the children's menu, and not quite old enough to want to try new things, or things that just look "eeeeeewww" even if they might be delicious.

The Crowds/Rides: Seemed a touch bit busier than years past, but we've gone towards the end of September before. Wait times were really low, like 5 minutes for Pooh or Snow White, or walk in to meet the fairies...maybe 25 mins max for the headliner rides. One night my husband and daughter went on BTMRR three times in a row, got off went right back around walked right on. We also did this with ToT, got off walked right back around and walked right back on. We finally did Toy Story Mania and I don't get the hype. It was an okay ride, but seriously not worth any more than a 10 or 15 minute wait. That's just our opinion tho.

Weather: HOT. So much so that my mil passed out our 2nd day at Indiana Jones. Ugh...that was scary for the 11yo. She was fine, just hadn't drank nearly enough water for the temps. It was low to mid 90's the first couple of days, then cooled down a tad to upper 80's. Rained a couple of days in the afternoon but we managed to avoid it by being on rides or in shows.

MNSSHP: MUST DO!! Oh man, this was our first year going, hubs and I were Jack and Sally, dd was Fawn, mil was a hippy and fil was Willie Nelson. Everything about this was worth it! The parade was amazing, the fireworks brilliant, ride waits nonexistant...crowded tho!

OMG!! I was at an appointment when I read the "lizard" part and I had an instant case of the giggles in the waiting room!! I'm sorry I had to laugh at your expense. I would have done the same thing and freaked the freak out! Then I was thinking the people on the ride had no clue why you were screaming ~ they probably thought you were afraid of the ride!

Im agreeing with the lizard bit. Maybe came in on someones pant leg or something and got tossed during one of the drops? At least thats a good thought.

And anyways- we dont keep spiders that big at WDW... they are all over at Potter!

Glad you had a blast. The parks are busier because of the free dining, and MNSSHP is the best. Always a good time.

A spider wouldn't curl itself around your finger (as soon as you tried to touch it it would have freaked out and run like the dickens) and likely wouldn't have been heavy enough for you to have noticed it landing on you. I'm fairly certain it was a gecko and it was probably as terrified as you were. Hence the reason it was holding on for dear life. Still, your reaction was perfectly normal, so I wouldn't feel bad or anything.

I would eat a live spider before I would touch a lizard...so for everyone saying a lizard would be easy to deal with...uh, no thank you! They are my biggest fear. And our house is covered in those nasty pink geckos and when they run in my house I suck them up with the vacuum hose...and then proceed to have a minor heart attack while I wait for dh to empty the canister. I want to puke just thinking about it....ehhh maybe no more TOT for me!!!

Just an FYI...those little ground lizards you see running all around WDW are actually anoles, not geckos. I would have LOVED having one wrap itself around my finger...as long as I could SEE what it was. It happening in the dark without me know what it was? Yeah I would have freaked out and screamed.

I'm not the OP but I came back from a stay at POFQ on the 14th. Mousekeeping, for us, was wonderful. The place was always spotless, we were given new shampoo/face soap/bath soap every single day (which made us laugh because we only opened one the very first day since we hadn't received our regular luggage from ME yet which had all our toiletries), and we got a new towel animal every day. She was definitely on top of things. The day before we checked out, we ran into her as we were stopping back in our room to grab something and she asked us if we were the occupants of the room (we hadn't yet reached our door). When we told her yes, she was so nice and thanked us for being neat and not messy, thanked us many times for the tips we left her, and just was such a sweet woman. So if anyone staying at POFQ ever has Ofelia...she really is a gem.

I never had plans on going on TOT ever agin, and this story has definitely cemented those plans even further. I hate things touching me in the dark. Like in haunted houses where things jump out at you or rub up against you. Not my thing. It gives me shivers just thinking about it. At first, when I was reading your story, I thought it might be something that WDW planted since it was MNSSHP, but then when you said it was alive, nah, Disney wouldn't do that. That would be be a good way to add extra halloween chills to the ride though - have rubber bats flop down on people, or big hairy spiders. Fake ones, of course. Glad you made it out of there alive.
