I agree with you the rented strollers were alot bigger than normal ones, and that is why I am glad I did take my sons from home, but we still had the problems with people & our own stroller also.

I think that you need to allow for more space with the rental strollers than any standard stroller you would have at home. I realize why people need to rent them and I kinda understand why they are built to be as durable as they are but I think people are not used to dealing with strollers that size. Both the pushers and the people that do try to zig zag around them. Also if you "see" a person pushing a stroller but don't look down to see what the size is you would normally just assume that it is your normal stroller size and you need to allocate a normal amount of space. At WDW that is not the case, or at least it doesn't appear to be.

actually that's a good point, kind of like driving a suv when you usually drive a honda... you have to account for the difference.


i just decided when i go next time i'll get an ecv ( #10 on the wdw ramming scale) and give them something to complain about ... so look out mean daddies, you'll meet your match

On my recent visit I was guilty of 'the dead stop' We were in Epcot, and it wasn't really very crowded, so I didn't think to look behind me at all when I stopped. I was noticing something on Spaceship Earth, when I stopped to comment on it to my DD and DB. Well, a stroller ran right up behind me, crashing my leg.

I immediately apologized, said, "so sorry! Totally my fault!", and got *glared* at as if I had just assaulted their child! The parents didn't say, 'no problem', or 'don't worry', just kept on going.

Oh well.

Maybe they "no speaka de english" and thought your were cussing them out LOL! Wishful thinking but I'm sure they were just rude people. Kuddos to you for your response. Wish they could have been as gracious.

when leaving mk at the end of the night i always get right next to the curb with the stroller and you should see all many people just walk right in front of you or look at you than step off the curb quoting you know who "stupid is as stupid does" going back nov 27 so beware i do not cut anyone any slack because if i have to watch out for you you have to watch out for me and you non stroller pushers think you can walk anywhere you want without looking

I am in my 30s and have been going to WDW regularly all my life. I live in Florida. Use to be visitors at disney were polite. NO MORE! The Americans are rude and so are the foreign guests. I don't even think its an issue of culture. Its the "me attitude".
I don't have kids but have nieces and nephews. The stroller thing is 2 sided some people are rude however anyone knows its hard to weave in and out when people are stopped.
I just got back from a trip with my extended family. My mother who is in her 60s had surgery a few months ago so we rented her one of those motorized things at EPCOT due to amount of walking involved. You would not believe how many people just suddenly stop and stare around or won't give an inch to let the scooter through. We are totally polite people (being chilled out Floridians) and it was nerve wracking trying to navigate this scooter. I REALLY have sympathy for anyone who is truly disabled and have to use one of these things.
We were at the FT W. campgrounds and I was driving a golf cart as many peeps do. An entire clan was walking down the road side by side blocking cars/golf carts when a perfectly good side walk was right next to them. I finally yelled out when I had to veer off road that the road was for traffic! (There were so wrapped up in their own little world they didn't even bother to get out of the way of a disney bus. The way people drive you would think they would be at least worried about getting run over by a car.)
Sorry for the rants, but its a wonder people don't get 'side walk rage' at disney. I'm a charter member annual passholder since they started issuing them but the crowds and general rudeness of park guests really turned me off this trip.

You don't have to have a stroller to have people cut you off, step in front of you, or stop to look at their map right in front of you. My kids are older now so we don't use a stroller, and we have this happen all the time.
I'm always amazed at how many rude people there are.

OK. The personal space issue. I understand that at WDW I am THROWN into a melting pot!!! I understand TONS of different culture and I respect that. . . UNTIL my 14 year old sister looks at me. . . RED FACED. . . I ask what is wrong and she tells me that the lady behind us in line for SPLASH MOUNTAIN is rubbing all over her. I look back, nice looking older (grey hair) lady. So I tell sis to step in front of me. Thinking that she is over-exagerating (u know how 14 year olds are). BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!! Every time we stepped forward this lady would walk until her breast was touching my back. ..............clipped

There was a little boy behind me who poked me in my booty a few times. After having his hand/finger in my butt crack for the 3rd time in 5 minutes, I did turn around and tell his mother, "Would you kindly get your son's finger out of my butt."

I would have had to have quickly turned around and given that woman an elbow to her breast. I am usually nice, but invading my personal space is one of my BIGGEST and I do mean BIGGEST pet peeves.

I would not have cared what language they spoke, I would have made sure she understood me.

My arms are so sore by the end of a visit. Not from pushing a stoller (which we do with our legs) but by jerking my stroller abrubtly to a stop.

DO NOT TELL ME TO "LEAVE A SAFE DISTANCE" IF YOU STEP INSIDE IT!!

I keep a safe distance between myself and the person in front of me but if you cut me off you are on your own. I just smile and say "Careful".

Only once in the Safari line did I misjudge and hit some womand in the ankle rounding a bend. Every other close call was someone who expected me to yield in their presence. If you cut across me expecting me to slow down, uh, no.

Really, the idea that it is my responsibility to watch you without a mutual consideration is ridiculous.
