We got back late Friday night from a great trip to the world! This was our first time in a 1 bedroom unit. We stayed at our home resort, SSR. We didn't arrive to the resort till about 2am!! We had a delay on our flight, it was a nightmare! Anyway, no one was checking in at the time we were so no line!!LOL :teeth: The check in was quick and the CM was so nice. They even had the box I shipped there waiting for me at the front desk. A CM helped put all our stuff in the van and took us to our room. We were in the Paddocks, room 6430. 4th floor. The room was beautiful!! It was so clean, everything was in perfect working order. We were so excited and it will be hard to go back to a studio after staying here!!! Yes, the room was far from everything, but we managed just fine. We met some wonderful people who worked there and who were guests there. The bus service was great most of the time. I think one time we waited 15 mins. for a bus. Getting back to the resorts from the parks was also fine. No complaints about the resort. We ate at the artist palatte twice and the food was great. We checked out the Turf Club which looked nice but we didn't get a chance to eat there. I will be writing a trip report and dining report today. If anyone has any questions, I'd love to answer them! Oh, we saw the construction going on for the new section. The one across from the check in building. It looks so nice and the theme pool looks like it is going to be great. This looks to be a great location with the main building right there as well as the boat dock to DtD so close. We were told the first building will be available to stay in in Feb.

Sounds wonderful!! Is there a projection on pool completion or is it the same as the building?? Can't wait!

Thanks -

Ellen

Hi Desnik, Glad to know that you enjoyed SSR. We are going to SSR (2-Bedroom) in Jan, first time in SSR (we are not DVC owners).

How was the walk from Padocks to the main buildings (artist palatte)? Does Paddocks have a playround for toddlers? We have requested "The Springs" but not sure what they will assign us.

I'm not sure on the completion date of the pool. But, it will be so cool, I will definately request that section next time!! I'll have to ask DH if he remembers a date because he was the one talking to the CM to get the info.

The Padocks are far. I would say a good 10-15 min. walk with kids in tow. There is a quiet pool with a bus stop next to it and a playground. It was just a pain if in the evening you wanted to go over to the main building to eat or shop, it was a long walk. We were glad it was cool weather. DH and I both agreed if it was 90+ outside that walk woul've been miserable!!!LOL I would request the Springs too. We got in so late I knew we would be far from everything and at that point I just wanted a bed. The room was also so great it made up for the long walk. Our view was OK too. It was of a lake and some of the parking lot and you could see the firestation from our balcony. If it was just DH and I I would request the Padocks. But, with our kids for us it's better to be closer to the main building.

What is the new pool going to be like anyone know??

What are the new buildings going to be called???

New building are the Grandstand.

The pool is racetrack theamed with a stating gate and other track stuff around the pool.

This is from my looking at it from the DME bus on our last trip.

I will check it out more in a few weeks during our SSR stay.

I'mNoPrince is exactly right! I do have a picture of it. When DH gets home I'll see if he can help me post it!

Glad to hear you had a great vacation.

The ppo was underconstruction during our last stay there... It looks neat but the buildings over there like there are going to be a ton of them....
