Just back from WDW/Universal last night
It was just DH and I, late 20s, on regular dining plan.
MK area:
Liberty Tree Tavern lunch - really good, a new favorite. I had the burger and DH had the pilgrim's feast. We both had the ooey gooey toffee cake for the first time, and it was easily our favorite sweet of the trip. The table next to us asked the server for cranberries to go with their pilgrim's feast, and he brought out a big bowl and I overheard the table saying how good they were.
Columbia Harbor House dinner - The place was packed. The line to order was backed up almost to Fantasyland, but it actually moved quickly so don't let the line deter you. I got the seafood mac and cheese and DH got the fried shrimp platter. His was good, large portion. Mine was more like macaroni in cheese soup. Tons of fake orange cheese, not a lot of flavor. Disappointing.
Be Our Guest FP+ lunch - We did the pre-order and were seated inside within seconds of arriving. Not even 5 minutes later, they brought our food out. Very smooth, easy process. Food was good. The place is beautiful. Might try it as a TS next time.
Trail's End (at Fort Wilderness) dinner - Really good food and service, loved visiting Fort Wilderness. However we thought the place was pretty small and lacked atmosphere. Was almost akin to an Old Country Buffet or Golden Corral, but smaller. We agreed that we like the food here better than Whispering Canyon, but prefer the atmosphere at Whispering Canyon.
Epcot area:
Beaches & Cream lunch - Had an 11:50 ADR on a Sunday here, and the place was half empty. Including the counter. I'd imagine it would have been easy to walk into. I had the burger with the No Way Jose and DH had the cuban sandwich with the Orange creamsicle shake. All was very good, but DH regretted not getting a sundae for dessert when he saw mine! Worth the walk over to the Beach Club as a nice break.
Biergarten dinner - Place is cool, entertainment was cute, food was good. The buffet line did get a little backed up at times. They did good re-stocking the food when it got low. Did not care for the communal seating. We were stuck between a family of 4 who didn't speak English, and another older couple. None of our parties talked or interacted with each other. The seats were close together. It was awkward.
Snacks/Drinks:
Orange grey goose slushie in France - it was strong, which I didn't care for. Also didn't like the glass in came in. DH wouldn't carry it around, thought it was too girly. LOL
Caramel brownie in Germany - Disappointing. Couldn't taste the caramel and the brownie was just OK.
Schoefferhoffer grapefruit beer in Germany - Really good. Got this as a liter at Biergarten too. Our favorite.
Margarita in Mexico - Good but relatively small and nothing spectacular, especially for the cost.
Cronut - everything I had read about. SO good. I wanted it with ice cream but had one snack credit left to use, and you can only get the regular cronut without ice cream as a snack. Next time!
DHS:
50s Prime Time lunch - first time here. Such a cute place. I got the fried chicken and DH got the sampler platter. The chicken was fantastic. DH enjoyed all of his food but thought the portions on the platter were small. We did get some of the antics - DH didn't finish his collard greens and the waitress wouldn't let it go. She actually took his fork and put a bunch of the greens on it and fed it to him! It was funny, but I can see where it wouldn't sit well with the wrong people.
AK:
Tusker House breakfast - One of our favorites. Really good food as usual. Did feel a little rushed this time, and always find our server seems pretty busy whenever we go here.
Flame Tree BBQ lunch - I had the Pulled Pork and DH had the turkey leg. Good food but eating outside with those birds is a real pain. They surrounded us and I was a little paranoid to even get up and get more ketchup. It was also cold that day, so we kind of wished they had indoor seating.
Tamu Tamu - Tried the dole whip with coconut rum. Really good! Highly recommend. Try to mix it up though - most of the rum sat on the bottom.
DTD:
Wolfgang Puck Express dinner - I had the margherita pizza and DH had the fennel sausage pizza. Liked them both. This place is nuts though - we were there on a cold night, around 8pm, and the line was pretty far out the door. We waited a good 15-20 minutes in line. It was also difficult finding a seat. Many people hoarding seats while their relatives waited in line, despite the signs asking people not to do that.
Ghiradelli - DH had the toffee sundae and I had the Gold Rush. Both were amazing. Love.
Caribbean Beach food court - ate breakfast here several times - chocolate chip pancakes, pastries, Mickey waffles. Also had dinner (pizza and grilled chicken sandwich). All food was good, but the place was a zoo. Hard to find seats at times.
