We had some great meals last week at the world. We did not use the Disney Dining Plan but we did use the DDE (Disney Dining Experience) for 20% off table service.
We ate in Japan at Mitsokushi Teppanyaki the first night. Our meal was excellent. We had 11 people with us so we all surrounded the grill. Our chef was funny and entertaining and the food was awesome. I haven't been there in several years and would love to go back next time. I had the steak and chicken, along with the veggies and noodles they give to everyone. And the dipping sauces were fantastic.
The next night we had dinner at the Crystal Palace with the Pooh characters. We had alot of fun, but it was a little c razy with our party of 11, 5 of them being children! The food was good and fresh. The character interaction was also good.
The next night we ate at Mama Melrose for my husband's 40th birthday. Again a party of 11. The food was very good. Didn't have as great service as I remembered there but otherwise we enjoyed it. I had ordered a birthday cake which was very good.
The next night we at in Epcot at the Garden Grill in the Land. We always really enjoy the meal there. My only two complaints were that they got rid of the cheesy potatoes, which we absolutely loved last May. And the desert that had been a nice samples of different cakes was switched to bread pudding that was not good at all (in my opinion). It was very bland and pretty much like eating...bread for desert! The character interaction was great though.
The next day we had the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Norway. We enjoyed it a lot. The princesses were nice and the food was very good. I like that they seat in groups and let you eat before the princesses start around. It's less crazy that way. We had dinner this night at Nine Dragons in China. The food was good and the service was good.
The next night we had MNSSHP and had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. It was very nice. Our server, Mark, was very good and the food was excellent. The turkey and mashed potatoes really hit the spot and I love the declaration salad. Characters were very fun there as usual.
Next night we dined at Le Cellier in Epcot. It was a very good meal. The server made us remember each region where the different breads came from so we could ask for more correctly. (We assigned that task to Dad!) I had a delicious filet with potatoes. Very good. My daughter got the smores for desert and they were delicious.
Any questions...feel free to ask! I'm actually looking forward to eating my normal "diet" at home. I'm still stuffed!
