So happy you had such a wonderful trip. Hurray for you for noting all the things that make disney so special.

God bless you and your family. It's sounds like He already is! :thumbsup2

Thank you for sharing your post. It has made my morning. So glad that you had such wonderful disney magic and that you shared it along the way.

Did you ever find out if the lady who your husband helped was okay after being taken to the hospital?

Scary, but definitely memorable: Monday night, a woman choked while we were at Coral Reef. People near her tried the Heimlich, unsuccessfully. We didn't realize what was happening until a waiter came to the front of the restaurant asking if there was a doctor, or a nurse, or anyone else who might know what to do. He was trying to be calm but sounded really panicked. DH (a doctor) immediately jumped up and went running. By the time he got there she was very blue and 'looked like death,' he said. He couldn't fully dislodge the blockage either, but he managed to establish a partial airway, enough to keep her stabilized until the paramedics got there, maybe 15 minutes later, to take her to the nearest ER. He was preparing to do an emergency procedure right there at the table if she lost her airway again, but fortunately that wasn't necessary. I truly don't think she would have made it if DH hadn't been there, and we weren't even *supposed* to be there at the time -- we had been late for our reservation, or we would have been gone by the time it happened. Several people stopped by our table to thank DH and make comments about how divine providence had put him there at that time, and I truly believe that's the case. We were all really shaken up, and neither of us slept well that night, after that. DH carried his emergency CPR and tracheotomy kits in his beltpack for the rest of the trip, after that.

Oh my gosh, we were there that night - that was your dh! How amazing - it made me want to learn CPR and the Heimlich. Tell him thank you for all of us!

Thanks for sharing your special moments from the trip! It sounds like your children will have so many great memories from the vacation, not the least of which will be recalling that their Dad saved a woman's life! :goodvibes

No, though I wish we knew. I was just wondering aloud a couple of nights ago how she was doing, and DH said he was sure she was fine -- that the dangerous part was before she was breathing again, and after that it was just a matter of keeping her stable -- but I still wish I knew for certain that she was ok. Knowing what's likely and knowing for certain that she's ok just aren't the same, kwim? The restaurant management staff asked for DH's name and our phone # and home address, but they haven't contacted us, so I'm not sure why they needed that info. (The paranoid part of me was initially worried that it was in case of a lawsuit -- but I'm pretty sure he'd be protected by Good Samaritan laws, in that situation.)

RadioFanatic -- thank you, and yes, I'll tell him :) And I'm a huge advocate of everyone who has the opportunity learning CPR and the Heimlich -- you never know when they'll be needed!

Your post gave me goosebumps!! The story of you DS and Playhouse Disney almost made me cry!!! And tell you DD what a wonderful animal rescuer she's going to be. Our cat that we adopted has 3 legs because of a neglectful owner who let him stay caught in a hunting trap, but it was because of someone like your DD who rescued him that we have him to bring such joy to our lives now! :goodvibes

What wonderful stories!

They make me ready to go back to Disney World again, so I can experience more magic!

:thumbsup2 Thank you for the wonderful post. It was great to read. Thank goodness your DH was around for that woman in Coral Reef. It must have been wonderful knowing your DH saved someone's life. I agree that the CM's are just amazing and that's part of the reason why disney world is the way it is and is a lot of people's favorite place. :mickeyjum :donald: :tinker: :yay:

What a great post, and sounds like a magical vacation! :thumbsup2
Thank you for sharing your experiences, it reminds all of us why we love Disney so much. :goodvibes

Thank you so much for sharing. I'm really wishing I could be back in the world right about now, but "tagging along" for your magical moments helps somehow! :sunny:
