I just got back last night from RPR,I checked in at 9:30 am I am a Loews Gold member so they offered me an early check in.I had requested a quiet room on a high floor,I paid for a standard room with AAA rate and being a Loews gold member, they upgrade me for free to a waterview.I could also have upgraded to a suite for $35.00 a night since one was available at checkin,I told the check in desk I would go look at my room and if I wasn't happy with it I would check out the suite.I had just finshed resort hopping at WDW (I have reviews on the Disney resort board if interested)and had already spent alot of money so I really didn't want to spent more money if I didn't have to,but I had just left the Poly which is gorgeous so I was ready for a letdown. The room really was pretty nice and I was happy with my waterview room. When I checked in I told the front desk what I wanted for my Loews welcome gift red wine and nuts, when I got back to my room 6 hours later it still wasn't there,so I called star service, there is no button for the front desk you have to be transferred, the young lady said that could be delivered any time the day I arrived.I know alot of people have problems getting their welcome gifts I really think Loews needs to work on this problem.I went out to the park and when I came back there was white wine and nuts.it was a large bottle of chardonnay and I don't even know if I would like it so I didn't want to keep it .Then I realized I never opened a bottle with a corkscrew before so I called and asked for beer instead, well they offered to send me a bottle of red wine up and have someone open it up for me,that was very nice and he wine lasted me 3 nights.I begin to relax in my room when I start hearing a loud conversation in the next room(I had been giving a connecting room and could hear the entire converstion in the next room, those of you who read my WDW reviews know I will not accept a noisy room, especially when I specifically say quiet room putting me next to a connecting room was a bad choice.I talked to the front desk and they said they would put in a room change for the morning.I thought I would try and see if the next day was any better,I was able to sleep in that morning however I was awaked to the sounds of the people in the connected room blow drying their hair,it really sounded like they were in my room. The front desk called me about my room change, they had a room one floor up from me at the end of a hallway, that would be ready about 11:30 am that was great.I switched rooms and it was much better,RPR has much better bath products than WDW,I would actually like to purchase the shampoo. The housekeeping in my 2nd room was not good, the housekeeper put a torn top sheet on my bed and didn't change the ice bag and she didn't but the same bath products or backscratcher in the room as I had in my 1st room, that housekeeper was awesome.I really think the Loews has some problems to iron out, such as newspaper delivery for loews members,I requested the local paper which they don't seem to be able to get for some reason,so I ask for USA Today and get the New York Times.I had to request the USA today repeatedly and then I just ended up buying it in the gift shop because the line at the front desk was so long. Even with all the little problems Loews has to iron out I really think they are a better value than WDW,their rooms are nice, they have better bath products, they offer individual resort boats to their parks and of course the front of the line access that can't be beat.I could have gotten a suite for $195.00 a night,I will definetely do that my next stay. Thanks for listening!!!!
