We got back late last night. The weather was cool but nice. Stayed at the Dolphin, nurses's rate. I am sure we had the worst room in the hotel, last room off lobby down a long long hall but view was great looked across lagoon to boardwalk, room was clean and had a king size bed ( which I requested). We were charged the resort fee told it was now necessary. My husband dropped me off at the door and parked car in free lot. Not really that far to walk. Check in took only about 5 mins- ( 9pm). No one came to ask if we wanted bell service which was ok because we did not need it.

Hotel itself was nice only used pool 1 time and it was quite a walk from room. Had breakfast 1 morning at Tubbi's and 1 morning at juice bar off lobby got muffins and coffee. There was a coffee machine in room with coffee packets and tea bags. Room was very clean. On 2nd day we went to MK early returned to room at 1 pm room not made up changed went to pool returned about 330 room still not made up. I got towels and told maid not to bother at 445 when we were leaving for evening maid still working in room next to ours- she did come into ours because when we returned that evening she had done room. Next day room made up by our 2pm return.

Parks were very busy. MK on Wednesday was worst(closed to non resort guests by 2pm) line waits were about 90 mins to 110mins. we were able to get to Main Street in plently of time to get a good seat for pre parade ( daughter marching) at end of Share a Dream Parade we went to see Mickey philamagic with fast pass I ran and got upon arrival
then space mountain (friend of kids works there and came to park special on day off to get us in -no wait DH and DD went 3 times
got fast pass for DD to use with friends on splash mountain, then we went to see hall presidents and riverboat then we left for night

Thursday am this was a EE day at MK but we got there about 8am went on Jungle cruise -pirates-splash mountain-haunted masion- all by 10:30 went back to thunder and a good 45 min wait so diceided to forget about it seeing we have ridden it many times.
Went to tomorrowland and did carosel of progress and people mover walk on
by 12noon park was getting very crowded and we left. Still holds true no matter how crowded if you get there early you don't have lines

Saw fantasmic in MGM for first time it was very very good lines in MGM long but do able

Epcot is always our favorite after MK the flower show was on and they were beautiful we did not do fast track or mission space because with no kids it was not necessary

Columbia house in MK very good very swift service
Ate at Prime time good- allowed DD and friend to order only soup and fries
Moracco- loud but very good very orded royal feast but got way too much food also ordered a 1/2 carafe of house wine for $9.50 best deal in park atleast 41/2 glasses of wine and not bad tasting either

English pub fish and chips always good ( just like new england style)

All in all a great trip

Sounds like you had a very nice trip..thanks for sharing.

Could you tell us why you thought your room was the worst room at the Dolphin? Hopefully you recieved a renovated room as I know the lobby floor rooms (3rd floor) is renovated. Glad to see you did so much during your trip. Welcome back!

The hall heading down to the room was dingy-rugs looked like they were lifting off the floor. Mainly location- it was like an afterthought that the east wing was added you have to go around a wall to find the hall. The room itself was just so far from everything was my main thought I think it was the very last room in hotel

Mattress was very soft

No, I had the worst room in the Dolphin fro Easter week, #10-026 East wing also, not renovated, down the long hallway, but a lovely view (not!) of the loading dock! I tried 3x to get moved and was told sorry, we're 100% booked. AAA Starwood preferred guest didn't make any difference. We weren't in the room much and they couldn't do anything about it, so I let it go. Though I was spoiled last August in a renovated room...if I can't get one next month, I'll just move to the Swan.

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a good trip. I think I've stayed in that same room. It's quite a hike but all of the king rooms are quite far from the elevators. That extra balcony is worth it though.

Thanks for the trip report. I'm going to move this to our trip reports board for you.

we had a room in the East wing in Oct 2002--you are right, they are far from things, but we really loved our view from there! It made the long walk worth it (we had a toddler at the time and spent a lot of time in the room) :)

the halls haven't been re-done yet, but I'm sure they'll be an improvement over what's there now!

did you have a heavenly bed?
