Stayed at the Poly CL 5 nights. Great trip...not perfect...some hiccups...some fabulous memories. Here are my observations:
Arrived in MCO. Reserved a FL Tours town car. Driver was a bit late but very friendly guy. Said the cruise ship traffic delayed him and turned out townmcar into a van. Ok. That happens. Pick up guy was also on time, early ever, very nice guy. But again did not arrive in town car. My only criticism is if I book a town car I want a town car or a discount for not providing the town car. But service was very good otherwise.
Poly: arrived CL. Gate guard knew our driver and just waived us through although we told him to tell the guard we were staying club level. So no concierge greeted us. We had to go into normal checking to be hooked up with someone from CLmtomtake us back to Hawaii. Also, no bell guys to take our luggage. But it had wheels.
Room was ready! At 1:30pm. Exactly the view I wanted! Theme park...castle...perfect! Club was nice. Ladies in the club work hard, maybe a bit grumpy but if I had to pick up after people that much I might be a bit grumpy too. WL and BC CL personnel just seemed friendlier. Loved the offerings! Lounge always had enough tables.
Disney regular transportation in a word SUCKS. Monorails especially. They broke several times. We walked to TTC at 8:30am to get to Epcot. HadmFP at 9:20. It opened at 9. After getting on and waiting FOREVER for "traffic" and "maintenance checks"'we,were, all, asked to disembark and head to busses. So 45 minutes worth of people RUN to swamp the busses. We walked to Poly figuring there was a bus. There wasn't. Had to walk back to TTC. By then monorail was back but I was pissed off and exhausted. Resort monorail also waited motionless for "traffic" at MK close. and then we heard there was a monorail that pulled into stops but the doors didn't open. People couldn't get off or on. And it left and kept going several times. It took a while for them to realize it and it pulled in with people banging to get out. Can you imagine?
Boat launch from MK to Poly: boat driver swap at close, guys yapping and yapping while people wait, finally take off. Girl next to me had to yell at captain that he was still tied to dock at Mk and AGAIN at GF. I was beginning to think the guy was actually drunk. I don't know.
OTOH, express transportation is FABULOUS!!! Why can't all Disney trans work like them? Absolute clockwork. Posted schedule on this board was totally accurate. We were usually the only ones on the bus, maybe one or two other parties. Hopped HS to AK to Epcot in one day.
SDFP infomoj this board also totally accurate and successful. Having 3 extras in the hand (even if not the top tier attractions) made up for the crappy transportation.
Restaurants were good...not great...tiffins, brown derby, spice road, bog lunch, way overpriced. Teppan Edo was the best service.
That's all I got. Probably won't be going back for many years. And if express transportation ends I probably won't go back at all - certainly not to hop. Not worth it without the express option. Now if they can find a way to charge for VIP security entrance to whisk through that line....well maybe I would go back sooner.
