We just got back yesterday from our trip:( Deep, deep in the post-Disney blahs...

This was our early first anniversary trip, with me, 25 and DH, 23. We got the room only for the first night, and the Gold Plan for 1/5-yesterday.

We checked in around 10:30p.m. on 1/4. Just to give you a little background - we got married on 2/6 at the Wedding Pavilion. We stayed at POR in Acadian House in a king bed/water front view. This year we decided to save some $ and book a standard room. We were given a room in Parterre Place. Waaaaaaaaaaay in the back in Parterre Place, with crayon marks on the wall, we were kind of disappointed since we had loved our room last year. We decided it was definitely worth the extra $ for an upgrade and prayed that they had some King rooms left.

So we trooped back to the front desk and very politely explained that we were married at Disney last year and splurged on a king/waterfront room and didn't realize how much we would miss that. Did they have any left, please, please, please?? The cast member laughed and said that we asked for an upgrade the best way possible. Then she asked if we preferred a king room or a waterview room and said it would have to be in the Alligator Bayou section. It took her some time to figure out what was left since we were going to be there during the Marathon. 2 king rooms left (there is a God!!). We took room 2633 (king/corner room) and absolutely loved it. And the upgrade was done free of charge:D :D :D

We'd never stayed at the AB section - we thought we wouldn't like it, but we were wrong. We liked the colors of the AB room better and felt more comfortable there. The room was very clean, and overlooked a little pond. It was kind of far from the lobby and the main pool, but we didn't mind, it was very peaceful. We saw a little tree frog outside our room under one of the lights waiting for bugs, and saw a raccoon on our way to the bus stop early one morning. We left a tip/thank you note for Mousekeeping every day, and received towel animals the first and last nights we were there.

I'll review the Gold Plan more in other posts, once I get through all of our laundry:rolleyes: but if anyone has any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them. I'll just say that we were very happy with this plan. We'd done the Silver Plan last year and decided to try the Gold Plan and are so glad we did. We ran around a lot, and ate a lot (yes, we were sick of food by the last day but were fine before that) and ended up saving about $1000 when you priced each thing separately versus the plan (I kept a running tab so we would know).
