I completely agree. This thread grosses me out. They certainly charge enough to hire plenty of people to clean up the rooms. Some of the things listed here are just down right disguisting.2minny said:When you're paying that kind of money, I expect clean...no doubt!
I have watched so many news reports where they take that infared light to hotels and find the "stuff" that you can't even see. I always give my hotel room a second thought when staying. when I read about this obvious filth...ugh.
I'm definitely packing some Lysol wipes.
Wonder if they change the bedspreads between visits? That's one that I always wonder about. I'd rather wait for my room to be cleaned than check in early.
Am I being picky? I don't really care. I don't know who has stayed there before us. A lot of diseases can be spread in this way. When my DS was 6 months old, he got salmonella poisoning. He wasn't eating any table food at the time. It happened right after we stayed in a military lodging facility (I'm not writing about SOG, I mean lodging on post that you stay in during moving transitions). The floors were dirty and when it was turned in to the CDC (I believe that was the org., but it could have been the health dept.) They had to do an investigation. The best conclusion was that it was from him crawling around on that dirty floor and then putting hands in his mouth. I am sure that adds to my paranoia of dirty rooms.
We are staying at Poly in August, wish Hawaii would be renovated by mid-August. Maybe they will take better care of the "new" rooms.
Also--no excuse for the room service stay being left that long? Don't they worry about bugs and vermin. Eewww...I have to get off this thread. It is making me sick.
