Hello there. We just returned yesterday from a week long trip to Disney and we stayed at the POFQ. We truly enjoyed it there and would definitely stay there again. We were in Bldg 4 and it was very centrally located to everything. We loved the pool and my husband loved the food court. The surroundings of the POFQ are just beautiful and so shady. We rented a car, but never used it. We had NO trouble whatsoever with the bus transportation. I think the most we had to wait was about 8 mins max. Even at nite when the parks were closing, the buses were very accomodating. We even took advantage of the boat to Downtown Disney and that was a very nice boatride. Our trip was a very enjoyable one and one that my 5 y/o DD will always remember. If you have any ?'s about the POFQ, ask away.:teeth:

Hi,

Thanks for the report!!!

Allison

Great to hear...we'll be staying in the same building hopefully. Only 8 more days to go! Wooohoo! :bounce:

did you ever walk over to the other resort and eat there? If so how long of a walk is it? We will be staying there during Christmas week. I was thinking, because of its size it would be the least crowded....what do you think?

Thanks for the post! We are looking forward to our trip in November. Glad to hear you did not have any problems with transportation. I hear good & bad but I guess it's what you make of it :D !

Were the grounds as beautiful as everyone reports & is it a nice small, compact resort? I am curious as to your thoughts on the food court as well. We really don't plan on eating there much though.

Also, how was the boat ride to DTD? I hear the waits for the boat can be really long. Again, thanks for the wonderful post  !

I will be arriving there Wednesday. Are there coffee makers in the rooms? Thanks

We did walk over to Riverside (not to eat), just to visit the resort and it's about a 10-15 minute walk. It's a very nice walk though, shaded walkway. We only ate at the food court at POFQ twice and the one time I had the chicken salad wrap (which was good) and my husband had the ribs (he loved those). The other time we ate there, we had pizza. We also got the refillable mug which we thought was a pretty good deal. Every time we would walk by the food court (which we had to walk by to get to the pool) we would fill it up. The boat ride to DTD was very nice, about a 15-20 minute ride. The lines can get a bit long around dinner time so if you are planning on eating at DTD, be prepared to wait and plan accordingly. We were there on Fri nite around 8:30 and left around 10 and we had to wait about 15 minutes for another boat. Which really wasn't that bad. The boats come every 15 minutes after 4 pm. Overall, we just loved this resort. Very scenic setting, quant and small which we loved. We will definitely be going back there in the near future.

Yes, there are coffee makers in the rooms. It is a small 4 cup maker and they do provide you with the coffee as well.

Also just returned from POFQ. Nice job on rehab of the rooms, cast members very helpful.

One comment on transportation- we usually drive to Parks but decided to take bus from POFQ one morning to MK. Bus loads first at POFQ then loops over to Riverside. Since bus was already full at POFQ the driver would pull up to all four stops at Riverside, open the door and announce to the usually many waiting guests that another bus would be coming in a few minutes, then drive on. What's to say the next bus, coming from POFQ, isn't full also. If you are the last stop to be picked up in the morning in Riverside could 3-4 buses go by and tell you another bus will be coming by in a few minutes (hopefully with some room)? Or at some point do buses just pick up in Riverside?

Thanks for posting the good news about POFQ. I always like to hear good things about where we are staying in July. Not long ago there was a not so good report and it made me wonder but I've heard more good than bad so I'm confident that we will like it there.

We just stayed there on May 15-18th. The resort itself was beautiful, quiet and really felt like your were in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The pool was great.

We drove ourself so I have no comment on the transportation.

The food court was sub par food and very expensive. Ran about 60 bucks for my family of 4.

I didn't like the rooms, mostly the beds and pillows. I hardly slept while I was there and when I did I woke every morning with an aching back and sore neck. My wife thought the same. The rooms although just refurb'd, seemed old and cheep. Didn't seem up to Disney standards like I have seen in other resorts. I wish the rooms were reflective of the outside of the resort. I don't care too much for double beds anyway, doesn't work out well to sleep with your wife.

I have to say, I would probably never stay at POFQ again. It was nice to try once, but there are other places I would rather stay that are much better.

Fireguy5620 thanks for the feedback but what other resorts are you comparing POFQ to, moderate or deluxe.

We got just back from our stay at the POFQ and we really loved the resort :) The grounds are very nice and transportation works very well. And rooms are nice too, nothing special but, yes, nice, I especially loved the beds, very comfy :)

Didn't eat much at the food court, but the little we ate was good, although a bit pricy.

We would definately stay there again, for it's price it's very nice hotel .

Welcome to the DIS, Angbuz!

Sounds like you had a great stay! It really is a great resort--I stayed there for the fourth time a few weeks ago!

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the report!
Any pics?:teeth:

We head over there in a few days. Havent been there since the rehab cant wait. Thanks for the resort and glad you enjoyed it.

I'm comparing my stay at POFQ to other moderate resorts that I have stayed in, like CSR and CBR along with some of the deluxe resorts.

Here is a link to view some photos of POFQ from our recent trip this month. Sorry that the room is slightly a mess, we were packing up getting ready to leave on our last day so I snapped some inside photos real quick. Let me know if you have any questions.

I just wanted to say that I thought the rooms were nice and didn't find the beds uncomfortable at all. We were very happy with the accomodations.

The food court was average-but how good can a food court be really? We never had anything that was unacceptable.
