We just got back on Thursday and had a fantastic time! We spent 8 great nights at Riverside. We previously have stayed at all value resorts (except AOA) and POFQ. We loved Riverside just as much as we loved POFQ! :goodvibes

We booked a preferred room and were in building 27. I loved the location because it was right next to a quiet pool and laundry. The kids loved the trundle bed and my 8 &1/2 yr old slept on it with no problem, and she is big for her age. I laid on it and thought it was uncomfortable (hard) but she loved it, so it made sleeping arrangements great!

We never did make it to any of the extra activities, and the food court was great! We didn't run into any grumpy CM's on our whole trip, everyone was more than accommodating and helpful.

Mousekeeping was great, lots of towel animals our first day, (toothbrush holder, soap dish, little chicks) and thats all we had all week, but I thought that was fantastic.

It will be our last trip for a couple years:sad: , not sure where we will stay next trip since we are trying to stay at as many different resorts as possible, but I definitely give Riverside a huge thumbs up!:thumbsup2

a couple of years - boy can't even stay away for one year.

glad you enjoyed POR

Glad you enjoyed POR as much as we did (we stayed years ago when it was Dixie Landings). We also stayed in Bldg. 27, and it was a perfect location ... halfway between the main pool and the food court. With lush landscaping all around, the quiet pool behind it and best of all - no parking lot views! It was the first moderate we ever tried, and is by far our favorite moderate. Thanks for posting!

POR is our favorite resort. We stay in the mansions and the setting is so beautiful and peaceful Waking up in the morning and seeing the sun come up over the river is so pretty. When we go I don't want to leave

We love POR! It is our favorite resort. So many amenities you almost feel like you are at a deluxe resort. Glad you had a great time!

So glad you enjoyed your stay at POR, I'll be arriving there in exactly 3 weeks! :hyper:

Did you use the buses to get to the parks? If so, how was your experience? That's really my only concern, after so many stays at POFQ and one bus stop, I'm afraid that I've been spoiled.

Yes, we did use the busses, and we travelled most days with my parents who had a scooter. There was only one day we seemed to wait 20 to 25 min for a bus. I think the busses were great. Most times we did stop at the other 3 bus stops but once in a while we didn't. One time a MK bus pulled up and told us he would dispatch a bus for us, due to the scooter. Ten minutes later it came. I thought that was awesome service.
We have stayed at POFQ, and did think the bus ride to the parks were quicker, but only because most mornings they didn't go to Riverside and make more stops. I felt the busses came just as frequent.

Thanks! I don't know what I'm worried about other than POR is an unknown for me. I've read that if possible, it's best to use the South Depot. I requested Oak Manor, near the bridge...I realize that they're only requests but if they're granted I think I'll be using South rather than East.

Glad you had a great time. We stayed at POFQ in February and are heading to POR in December. We loved POFQ and I really hope POR lives up to the reviews everyone has been sharing. We're supposed to stay in a Royal Room - our kids are beyond excited about this!

I'm a bit concerned about the size of the resort as well but hopefully the buses will be ok. We were definitely spoiled by the size of POFQ!

Can't wait to go back to POR ! Just made our reservations about 4 hours ago ! We're heading back the end of April. Always had great weather then...We booked into the new Royal rooms at the Mansions. I'm sure my 8 yr old granddaughter will LOVE it !!!

We just got back Saturday. Loved it. We did make it to many of the activities and my kids enjoyed them more than the parks! We are considering a resort-only trip.

Glad to hear you had such a great time! We are staying there next Sept and really looking forward to it!

That's awesome! I tried one day to get my daughter to go but she just wanted to swim at the quiet pool. In a way it was a good thing at the time, because I know she would not have wanted to leave.:)

Funny you are considering a resort-only trip, we discussed the very same thing on our way home!

2 weeks to POR. First time at this hotel. Hope it's as good as you all say.

Can some of you who have stayed there recently comment on the dining? I know there are two options, a food court and a table service. Any pros or cons?
