Wow, what a waste of time, space, and money.

I knew from the start that an Avatarland was a mistake and was I right. First off, Avatar is not a beloved franchise with a history like Star Wars. No one is itching for Avatar 2 and the only reason the first filmed grossed so much was due to the mostly 3D ticket pricing at the theaters. Avatar 2 will be one of the biggest box office bombs(in terms of cost vs box office take) in the history of film.

Navi River Boat ride was terrible. The "highlight" of the attraction wasn't even there? Where is that completely incredible Avatar Audio animatronic I've heard about. All I saw was two screens.

Flight of Passage, completely and totally overrated. Another "Soarin" with different ride vehicles and theming. I'm so over these "screen" attractions.

Screens, Screens, everywhere a screen
Saving some money, setting the scene,
Do this, don't do that, can't you see the screen?

What did you think it was going to be...??? It sounds like you have expectations that can never be met. Flight of Passage was wonderful, immersive and amazing.

I guess I knew what I was getting into and leveled my outlook.

The new Universal Hagrid's coaster exceeded my expectations. So did Slinky Dog as I was expecting something more kid-like, like Goofy's Barnstormer.

Maybe I expected with all of the hype over Flight of Passage I would get on a thrill type attraction that actually went somewhere.

Did you try exploring Pandora at night? Amazing experience.

As for the rides, we loved both. Unfortunately, the Shaman AA is sometimes MIA, for technical reasons.

Avatar 2 will be a global blockbuster. When that happens, will you come back to these boards and admit you were wrong?

I was there at night.

As for Avatar 2, sure I'll admit I was wrong, but I have never in my life heard someone say they can't wait for the next Avatar film.

I totally disagree. I can't stand the Avatar movie, but I think Pandora is beautiful and immersive and a spectacular example of Disney imagineering at its' best.

I don't like Soarin', but I love FOP. It's my second favorite attraction in all of WDW.

I won't go see Avatar 2, but I won't miss Pandora on each visit to WDW. I guess I'm able to separate the two.

Couldn't possibly disagree more. Pandora is absolutely stunning, incredibly well done. And both rides are fantastic. I teared up after riding FOP the first time, it was that good. And couldn't stop smiling for like an hour.

Sorry you felt that way. It is a bummer about the animatronic on Navi, I would give that one another chance.

I’m surprised! I’ll admit I can’t stand the movie, but Pandora is amazing. The enchantment of that land at night is why I love Disney. Na’vi is a pretty and chill ride, too bad you didn’t get to see the animatronic...it is quite cool. FOP has taken first place for me in rides at Disney. To me, it’s the most amazing experience and I can’t get enough of it...all the feels!

I actually love Pandora, and especially FoP and the bioluminescence at night, and I have a feeling that when Avatar 2 comes around, Pandora will become an even bigger deal, with potential to expand. Before the Disney takeover of Fox, I was impressed at how even the Imagineers can apply their skills outside of Disney IP and IP of subsidiaries, and the attention to detail really showed.

I think FOP is the best ride at WDW right now. Just wish they'd fix the blurry screen.

I really loved Pandora - I think it is a wonderful area to walk through with tons of details. That said, I do get how someone could feel it is a bit of a letdown given the hype. Especially at night which, while beautiful, doesn't have the interactive bioluminescence that was promised when they were building it

I think FoP, while, yes a simulator, is like the crowning achievement of simulators and is a really cool ride. Na'vi River is, I think, a lovely ride with an amazing animatronic (when it works) - but it is really short

So I think the OP is selling it a bit short, but also can understand feeling a bit let down if your expectations were off the charts

The 10 year old had never seen the movie, after doing both rides she went home and watched the movie. Now she loves the rides much more than the movie but still she loves Pandora at night.

I agree that everyone has their own opinion. I will admit that I've never seen the movie, nor do I have any desire to do so (just not my thing), so that whole area is a bit lost on me. However, with that being said, I think the details (especially at night) are amazing, and FoP is one of the best rides I've ever been on. Completely blew me away by how immersive it was regardless of the fact that yes, you were staring at a screen.

I will just say, "I can't wait for the next Avatar film!" I love the movie. It is very special and grossly underrated in the US. The thing is, international audiences also love it, so while the western markets may not be super excited for it, the movies will be huge in Asia.
