Just back-older ticket info

Wanted to share a ticket frustration last week. We bought 10 day non expiration tickets many years ago, and use 2 days every other year or so. I have kept pretty good track of how many days were left, but wanted to double check and possibly convert the tickets to hard plastic. We stayed at Saratoga Springs and the desk could not check or convert, but they referred me to Downtown Disney or any park guest relations. Downtown Disney looked up my tickets but told me the wrong information on one of them (I knew they were park days left and they told me none). After going to Magic Kingdom (they were wonderful) they gave me all the correct information and converted all my paper tickets and made sure I wrote everything down. Really took their time with me. I also did some converting at Animal Kingdom and they were also great!

Just a precautionary tale. I had 4 park tickets left on the ticket that they told me I had none.

We also have older tickets and in the past GS at the parks were great. This time I emailed WDW with my info and they told me exactly what was on my tickets.
 
I have old tickets I wanted to check on/convert as well. Could you share the email address you used and any other necessary information please?
When you emailed them, were you able to convert to a new form? On a side note, I have one ticket that originally belonged to Ex-DH; when I convert it, can it then be used by another family member?

I'd love to know also since there have been some that at downtown disney have said were "used" and I really wonder....
would love to double check... especially since things are SO expensive for single days now... these were hoppers ... some which were hoppers which included water parks for that day..

I've resorted to writing with sharpies on the tickets keeping close count on days used.

I have 3-4 old passes that only have "plus"s left on them, for water parks, etc. They are from before the finger scanners at the parks. We used to interchange the tickets then, it did not matter who used what pass.

I worry about them sort of disappearing off Disney's computer system someday. They don't have the finger scanners at the water parks, or do they? I have not been to one in a long time.
 
Yes. We do have scanners at the water parks and have had them for years. What will happen is the first time the older tickets are used with a scanner is they will then be tied to the individual.
 
Guest services at DtD is horrible. They wouldn't even check my daughters because they wanted her id. She was under 18 so they didn't even need her id. A cast member had written "child" on her ticket as she cannot sign and has problems with the finger scanner due to her disability. I just took the ticket to the MK booth and they were so nice and helpful.

You need to email them the front and back of all tickets and your drivers license. They will tell you what is left on them. They will not issue or upgrade anything. You have to do that in person.
 
Years ago I had the same thin happen to me at the BW and reported it on the boards. I now only check remaining days at the park. Glad you were astute and checked elsewhere.

Another advantage of keeping track of the days and usage yourself and not inquiring -- if the ticket goes bad without your asking or checking then Disney is likely to honor your records and answers to simple questions rather than make a federal case over usage data in its archives.

But you should promptly get a ticket re-issued (no charge) if the printing on the back is getting worn off or if you have numerous problems with the ticket in turnstiles or Fastpass machines. If neither the printing nor the magnetic stripe can be read then the ticket is completely dead.
 
To be honest, I have not been very good at keeping track of unused days, however I believe I have some water park options left on about 2 or 3 past sets of tickets. Can you guys tell me what the ticket difference is, or the years that everything changed to expire, so I can start trying to figure out which sets would have unused options?
