I am taking a quick break from laundry, unpacking, etc.

We just got home yesterday from a great vacation. Stayed one night in a studio at OKW. Three nights in the BEST view I can imagine in a studio at VWL, then another three nights in a terrific 2 bedroom in VB with a fabulous view.

For the amount of rain we had every day, we still did an incredible amount and had a wonderful time!!! We tried lots of new places to eat while in WDW and explored lots of VB.

The biggest surprise was Cirque du Soliel!!! WOW!!!!

I'll be happy to answer any questions later today...have to get back to unpacking!

Just curious-what building were you in at OKW? In only one night, did you have occassion to use their transportation and if so, what did you think? How did you find the studios of OKW and VWL compared? Like you, we just split a stay between VWL and OKW (and one night only at OKW). DH loved OKW, and (partially due to poor service at VWL), wasn't totally impressed with VWL. I'd be interested in your views on the comparison.

KarenB...okay, you've got my curiosity going! What was the room number of the studio? And what was the view?

Glad you had a good trip and managed to enjoy yourself despite the monsoons!

another request for your studio room number. I am going for a couple of days in July (with 2 eleven years old girls) so I would really like a nice view for them. Thanks!!!

spiceycat....as I recall, VWL really owes you a good room view this time!!! I'm sure you've already put in your requests and I hope you end up with a much nicer view. If I were you, I'd bring that picture of the last room you had (near the garbage pick up area) and show it to the front desk when you check in....I'll bet you don't get it again!!

Good luck and enjoy the trip! :D

Karen,

I am trying to decide if I need to get a small VB add-on or not. Did you get the VB reservation during the 7-month or 11-month window? Was it difficult to get the dates that you wanted? Thanks

Karen, Glad you had a great time on your trip. I have told many people that "Cirque du Soliel" is the best show on WDW property!! It is well worth the $65 ticket price for adults. What floor was your 2BR at VB? We are arriving at VB in 5 days(requested 1BR direct ocean view, top floor):)

Hi! Let's see if I can answer your questions.....

simbasmom...we were in building 17 at OKW. We really didn;t have much time at all to explore there since we had only one night. We loved VWL over OKW mainly becuase we like the VWL theme better. We have very good memories from a trip to Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone!!!! We felt the mini kitchen at VWL were much bigger. We had Cirque tickets for that night and wanted to take the boat to DD from OKW, but because of the rain the boat was closed. We drove instead. :(

granny and spiceycat...our room at VWL was 3509. It looked over the quiet pool and we had a view of the bay as well. The bellhop said it was one of the best views of the villas and I have to agree!!!! Just beautiful fiorst thing in the morning with a cup of coffee!!!

luckytso and lawgs....we booked VWL at exactly 7 months out. I requested non smoking and a room close to the pool. We never faxed or asked about our requests except when we made our initial ressies BUT we did check in about 8am (no room til 3:30) We wanted to park and get our cold stuff stored before we headed to the parks.

VB was made at 11 months out.

ncligs.....we were in 1444 at VB. We requested non smoking and ocean view. We were told there were no ocean views at any of the 2 bedrooms, but from our porch, we could really see quite a bit of the ocean!!!! Also, our room had a cool circle window along with a vaulted ceiling!!!! I agree about Cirque...it was worth the $$$ !!

Hope this helped!!!
Karen

thanks for your reply

getting booked early with requests seem to be the way to "obtain" what you want
