Arrived on Wednesday, March 1st. Beautiful day. It was myself, dh, ds10, dd7, Aunt and mom mom. Got to the resort around 11:00am. The cast member let us "pick" which building we would like. All the buildings with elevators were booked so we took room 2630 across from the pool and hh. Perfect location within walking distance to the action. The bball court was the favorite of my ds. Our 2br was in great condition. Looked like it was newly renovated.
The weather was beautiful all week, upper 70's to low 80's during the day. There was only one night that I would call chilly. We hung out at the resort the first day and did some grocery shopping at Winn Dixie. We ate in mostly every breakfat except for one trip to WL, we love this place!
Then it was parkin it. Thursday, Epcot, loved the Soarin again, and ate in Italy. Very good meal. MK on Friday to watch our friends daughter's dance troop perform. Ate at Liberty Tree Tavern. Love that sweet butter. Saturday was MGM. ESPN weekend was there. A bit more crowded than normal. ESPN Zone was cool for the kids. Shootin pucks and Bballs for free. And ridin the dirt bike was fun for ds. I don't know that I would do this again though. Some things happened on the rides that were a little unfair....we had fast passed RRC only to have to wait an extreme amount of time inside the attraction. All day long we saw "ESPN people" being buzzed by us second class citizens to jump right on a ride no wait at all. This was just unfair to everyone else waiting. We waited a good half hour inside the RRC ride with a FAST PASS. And the CM's said nothing was broken down. NOT COOL DISNEY. OK, enough about that. Sunday was Animal Kingdom. Loved Expedition Everest! Did it twice with fass pass. The Festival of the Lion King show was great. My dd was picked to be part of the show.
Our last day was spent renting a pontoon at OKW and taking it to DTD. We own one here at home, and really missed taking it out since last summer. What a relaxing way to end the trip.
Overall a great time. The cm's at the resort were great and very attentive. We only ran into one cm who was a little grumpy. He was working late at night giving out towels. The resort was beautiful. I am still torn though on which I like better, VWL or OKW. You can't beat the size of the OKW rooms.
Oh, I forgot to mention my ds did bring a little cold down with him which turned into a fever and cough everyday. The doctor said, "just take him out, he'll be fine". So we pumped him up with a lot of meds and off we went. He was a trooper. Of course, he was almost 100% the day we left. Guess that's the way it goes sometimes. My dh says we won't be returning for a couple of years. Hope he changes his mind! We all absolutely loved our trip.
