Well we just got back from a 6 night split stay. The first 2 nights we stayed at the Contemporary. I loved the room but didn't love the resort. It was crowded with convention people and the construction made the hotel hard to navigate. The elevators were extremely slow since a few were closed. The monorail was of course great but not great enough to have us stay there again. The last 4 nights of our trip we stayed at the YC. I loved this resort. It was beautiful and clean and the pool could not be beat. I love the location. It was great being able to walk to Epcot and the Boardwalk was so much fun. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The weather was HOT and we did get a few thunderstorms which put a major damper on Friday's P&P party. The crowds were very managable and we didn't wait more than 20 minutes on a stand by line. we fast passed anything that had a longer wait. The only bad thing about our trip was we lost our camera and all our beautiful pictures. We know we left it at Jellyrolls but nobody turned it into the lost and found. It is so hard for me to believe that someone would take it. I don't know how somebody could look at our pictures with our kids and take the camera anyway. Plus our photopass card was in the camera bag so we don't even have those pictures. I have lost two night sleep thinking about this. Am I the only one who thinks it's unbelieveable that somebody would take someone elses vacation photos??:sad2:

Sorry to hear you lost your camera. The person who took it obviously didn't have a heart.

You just never know...keep checking with Lost and Found. Occassionally these things show up a few days or weeks afterward. Here's some pixie dust for you...:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I love the YC too! It's one of my favourite places to stay and the location is amazing.

Sorry about your camera :sad1:. I had set mine down on at bench at Epcot a few years ago and forgot to pick it up again. I went back when I realized it was missing, but it never turned up again. I still feel bad about it.

Imnholds,
Our digital camera was stolen from my wife's backpack while we were standing in line for Buzz Lightyear. This occurred on August 15, our first full day at Disney. Needless to say that this put a damper on our vacation. We had just left Cinderella's Royal Table with my 9 and 7 year old DD's. After filing a report with security we stopped at City Hall to see if we could obtain a copy of the report. We were in line with another family that had their camera bag stolen along with their wallets and I.D. They were also in line for an attraction. A security person told us that the Magic Kingdom had a "busy" week as far as lost/stolen items. No, you are not alone with losing your camera. Hopefully, you will receive good news from lost and found.

:goodvibes :goodvibes

Oh how terrible! I would be so upset if my camera was lost/stolen! Have you called Disney to see if there is a way they can find your photopass #?

I can't believe people would stoop so low as to steal a guest's camera right out of their bag. So sorry that happened! At least this thread has reminded me to keep my guard up - even at the happiest place on earth!

We've been on the phone a few times with Jellyrolls and the lost and found at the BWI,YC & BC and our camera has not turned up. It's hard for most normal moral people to understand how someone could steal anything from someone else but I guess there are bad people everywhere. I actually feel worse that we're not alone and this has happened to others.

I guess now we'll have to go back and recreate all of our pictures:thumbsup2

I once had a photopass card I thought I had misplaced. (Ended up finding it. I had several and mixed them up.)

I found on the photopass website where guests can try to have photos located so they can buy them once they get home.
Unless the site has changed, there was a place where you could describe who was in the photos, what time of day, location, characters, etc, and they could possible locate them for you.

Although I don't hold a lot of faith to it because when I was having them search I was very specific, it was FIRST thing in the morning, the characters were not even busy, nor was the location. The reply was they could not locate my photos. Luckily I found my card.

But it certainly is worth a shot!

Sorry to hear about your camera. We lost our's on a previous trip at downtown disney. I really is a horrible feeling. I hope you have magical memories of your trip though. Try and write as much as you can in a journal so you can take yourself back by reading.

The photopass site does have a form to complete and they will attempt to locate your photos.

if this does not pull up use this one and depress the View Additional Help under the Please Note with the Pluto Character
http://www.disneyphotopass.com/registration_gate.aspx

It also has a spot where you can attach a photo of the people in your Disney photographs which would make it easier for them to identify members of your party (family). Just remember all digital photographs have a date/time stamp associated with them, so the more accurately you can provide the information along with location and possible photographer description should increase your odds of them locating your photographs.

Sorry about the camera, glad you liked YC, it's a great area we are owner's of DVC at the Board Walk. Love staying there.

Some people can be so horrible. We took my son at 22 months to the hospital for tests that included having him knocked out. We bought Mosters inc for the kids to watch on the way home and had carried it into the hospital with us to show my dd while we were waiting for my son to come out of the procedure. Well when we went out to walk down the hall with my 3 yr old daughter (the only let my hubbie go a little way and he returned with my dd to the waiting room where we had left the stoller) and proceded to get the movie out to show her and found that in the 90 seconds he was out of the room someone had gone through the stroller that had the movie burried under a blanket, pajamas, and 2 kid coats, and stollen it. I was soooo angry. I didn't do anything at that moment cause I thought maybe we had left it in the car afterall but no it wasn't there and then it was too late. But then even if I had spoken up right away it's not like the theif was going to say oh yeah I did steal it sorry about that here ya go. Atleast I hadn't yet told the kids about it.

On the flip side, we visited disney for my dd's birthday last year. We did the aaa story time and My daughter left the tube with the lithograph from cinderellas castle in teh aaa lounge. Inside the tube she had all the things she had collected through the day including some other certificates and a princess t-shirt she was carrying around having autographed. The park was closing and there wasn't much I could do about it. CRT sent over a new tube/litho to gues relations for me but I couldn't replace the rest. I returned to the hotel where hubbie had taken the kids while I stayed to see what I could do and found my dd absolutely ecstatic since the aaa man had not only sent the tube with all the contents to our room but included a birthday card with confetti and a Lady and the Tramp doll.

That really sucks. I would have been crushed had it happened to me. That said, keep checking back. My DD lost her brand new lanyard with about 4 brand new pins on ToT just before closing. MGM's lost and found didn't have it the next day. A few days later, our bus made an unexpected stop at the TTC so we got off to check with WDW's central Lost & Found. They had it and the pins were still on it! :woohoo: I was shocked to say the least. I never thought we would see it again. I knew though that if I didn't go through the motions of trying to retrieve it that I would feel bad the whole trip. Also, I left behind a brand new pair of ankle boots on my last visit. They returned them to me within a few days of me contacting them! They even paid the shipping! I have had excellent success with WDW Lost & Found. Keep trying. If it was turned in, you'll get it back.
