Cast of characters: me, DH, 3 very picky eaters (DD 8, DD almost 7 and DS turned 4 while at WDW last week). I tried to keep track of most meals so here are the details that I can recall:
We stayed at the GF and on arrival day we went over to Trails End at Ft. Wilderness for dinner. TE does not take PSs but even so, our wait was only about 20 minutes. The food was adequate (not great) but it is the least expensive buffet in the World, I believe ($15.99 for adults, $6.99 for kids). The only weird thing was a problem DH had with the plates. The plates are metal and they bugged DH's teeth. (DH's brother the dentist met up with us the next day and explained why this bugged DH.) $56 for the 5 of us.
First day at the parks, we went to AK. I had breakfast at Tusker House. For $4, I got a cheese danish and a large bottle of oj. They also had yogurt, fruit and other danish.
Lunch was at Flame Tree and it was very good. $48 for 4 adults and 3 kids. I had a BBQ chicken sandwich that came with beans and corn. It was great to have choices other than fries and burgers.
Dinner: Ohanas. We've been here before and although the food was very good, it was not up to what we experienced the first time. But our waiter had 6 tables of 7 or more people. Some of the meat was undercooked. We spent $150 for 4 adults and 3 kids. This place is very yummy and great for families. We also got the Hawiian shaved ice dessert. 5 people ate from one dessert ($4.99) so it was a good buy, but the meal price does include pineapple and caramel dipping sauce which is delicious. The alcoholic drinks ranged in price from $6.50 to $9.99.
Second day: Epcot. Lunch: Electric Umbrella--$26 for 2 adults and 3 kids. Kids had chicken strips and fries and mac and cheese. My kids did not like the mac and cheese. DH had a cheeseburger. I had the roastbeef sandwich with cheese and bacon. It came with cole slaw.
Snack: The Land--ice cream and chocolate milk.
Dinner: Yakatori House; for $11, I got 1 adult chicken terriyaki and 1 kid's meal. This was not very good but me and DS were starving.
Third Day: MK. Lunch: Pecos Bill Cafe; $26 for 2 adults and 3 kids. The kids had chili cheese fries, DH and I had hamburgers. They also serve hot dogs. This place has a great toppings bar that includes grilled onions, mushrooms, sauerkraut and cheese sauce. DH and I certainly liked our hamburgers.
Dinner: Liberty Tree Tavern for DS's 4th birthday. $92 for the 5 of us. This includes the birthday cake I ordered ahead of time ($12). The hostess had DS use the phone to take a call from Goofy who wished him happy birthday. Our table had confetti and streamers on it. Meeko, Chip, Dale, Pluto and Minnie each visited our table 2 or 3 times. We had roast turkey, pork, beef, stuffing, mac and cheese, salad. The food was good and the cake was very yummy. (Mickey on the top. The CMs sang a patriotic birthday song to DS.)
Fourth Day: MGM. Breakfast: ABC Commissary; $12 for 1 kid and 1 adult. We had scrambled eggs, lots of bacon (most I've ever seen in a serving at a restaurant), french toast sticks, biscuit and hash browns. DS ate more here than any other meal. I liked this place for a quick breakfast.
Lunch: ABC Commissary; can't recall cost. This was not nearly as good for lunch. The only kids meals were chicken nuggets and fish and chips. (My kids won't eat fish.) I was not hungry for lunch so had a snack of the marinated tomatoes and onions. This was also a nice change from the normal fast food.
Dinner: 1900 Park Fare; again I don't recall cost. The food was above average. I loved the shrimp alfredo. DH enjoyed the prime rib. We saw Cinderella, the Prince, Perla, Susie and the Fairy Godmother. We had a fairly late PS (8:10) and they were shutting down when we left. It was actually nice because we were not rushed and the crowds thinned out a lot.
Fifth Day: MK. Lunch: Cinderella's Castle; $60 something for the 5 of us. This was very yummy and the service and treatment was great. The setting was beautiful. Lunch was way less costly than dinner. DH's sandwich was huge. He took half with him and ate that for a dinner on the run. I had the BBQ chicken breast with a vegetable slaw that was delicious. It also came with a yummy piece of apple walnut spice cake. The kids meal came with mashed potatoes and corn. Cinderella was in the waiting area signing autographs. It was our most enjoyed meal.
That's it for our meals. We had a great time and made several of our PSs on arrival.
Let me know if anyone has questions.
