Just Back... Musings from first MNSSHP and other thoughts

Appreciate your thoughts! I too am quite shocked by your comments about the queue. Unacceptable.

Interesting. I have been visiting DL since 1962 (although I don't remember that far back ;) and WDW since 1971. The only other time the parks were trashy was during the recession of the 70's. Not long after WDW opened, as a matter of fact, DL got so bad my family simply stopped going for a number of years until they cleaned things up. Eventually they did, but things seem to be falling off.

It's a management problem. Disney has several at the present time, some of which are very serious. We will go this December and observe and then decide for ourselves whether or not to simply take a breather from Disney until they decide to clean up their act--literally. There are simply other ways to spend our vacation $$$ that do not involve looking at trash--or being taken for granted as a guest--because that's what a lot of this stuff sounds like to me. Perhaps they need to stop building hotels until they figure out how to properly manage them. Primo rates and sub-standard service and disappointing stays are becoming the norm, I'm afraid.

We'll see--I hope I am wrong, but I've drastically lowered my expectations for the upcoming trip.:sad1:

I think Disney thinks the location of their hotels is enough to pacify the guests. But the problem is when guests compare the Disney Resort Hotels against other hotels that charge the same. Other hotels work hard to promote brand loyalty. If something is wrong, they want to find a solution that satisfies the guest. I think, in a lot of ways, Disney has lost sight of this principle.

Thank you Zip, I always look forward to your reviews. My son-in-law will be disappointed in the trash report. That's the one thing he tells people on how he's amazed that it's so clean with those many people going through on a daily bases.

There may be scraps here and there at Disney but honestly, with the volume of people there, they do an amazing job keeping it clean. I recently visited our state fair just days after our Disney trip. Talk about trash! My husband said the men's restroom was like a 3rd world country. I've never encountered that at Disney, thankfully! I stepped on a cheese curd in the food building, my friend's son had super dirty feet at the end of the day (wearing flip flops), none would happen at Disney. Pretty clean place, imo.

I think the people who notice the trash at the parks are people who are comparing the Disney of 5-10 years ago to the current situation. It's sad for us to see the decline.

Trash? Not something I would expect at all from Disney parks here in the U.S.
There was trash all over the place in Paris. It was horrible. Cigarette butts littered the ground. Trash strewn everywhere. Really bad. I just figured they were a long way from Corporate and their expectations for what the park looks like registered as DGAF. And it showed.
