We ate at Minnie and Friends at the Plaza Inn last Monday, June 22. We had an 820 reservation for 9 people. The restaurant was not full (and no one had been seated on the patio yet) We were seated inside at two large round tables next to each other.

We had 11 Characters visit us during our meal!!!! With excellent interaction too! We had Minnie, Chip, Dale, Captain Hook, the Fairy Godmother, Baloo, Rafiki, Pooh, Tigger, eeyore, and Mr Bubbles (the penguin from mary poppins). a few visited us twice and we loved the antics of Captain Hook. They played music once during our meal and the kids got up and danced with 5 of the charcters. We were there about 45-50 minutes.

The food was excellent too. the made to order omlettes were wonderful and the french toast was a huge hit with our group- it was thick sliced and had a carmelized sugar coating- sooo good. we loved that we got our own drinks-lots to choose from- and we just kept a stack of the nesquick chocolate milks on the table for the kids! There was also lots of bacon, sausage, bisquits and gravy, potatoes, mickey waffles, fresh fruits (excellent pineapple) and breakfast breads (loved the chocolate croissants).

I loved the fact we were already in the park, the food was great, and wow so many characters. It was a lot less expensive than Goofys and because it is all self serve there is no automatic gratuity. With my AAA discount it was 177.00 for the 9 of us (5 adults, 3 kids, 1 infant). I thought it was absolutely worth every penny and i can highly reccomend it to others.

I'm glad you liked it so much!! M&F's is our favorite breakfast too. :)

SOunds like a lot of fun. I have read mixed reviews, so it is nice to see things from a different perspective. Also, I had no idea there was a AAA discount at M&F's. Good to know!

Wow! It sounds like they are really pulling out the characters at Minnie & Friends! I personally don't necessarily like an onslaught of characters because I like to be able to relax and eat my food and just jump up for pictures every now and again, but I would like to try M&F at some point just to see who is there. It has been distracting for me at times when Goofy's or Storytellers was full of characters and I couldn't get a bite of food because one after another kept coming by. Minnie and Friends has even more of them running around. It sounds like M&F is definitely the place to go for the highest concentration of characters, so I may just have to go there on a day when I am not that hungry and sit with my camera in hand, waiting for them!:lmao::lmao:. My only problem is that I am a klutz with beverages, so I actually prefer to have them served to me. I have a hard enough time carrying plates of food back to the table, let alone trying to deal with drinks too.

As for discounts, don't forget that with a Premium AP you get 15% off at Minnie and Friends, as opposed to the AAA or Deluxe AP discounts which are 10% off!

Anyway, that is wonderful that you had such a good time!:cool1:

I'm glad you had fun. I think this is where we will go in September after enjoying some MM rides.

Do you mean you can use both discounts? Or that PAP discount is more than AAA?

PAP is more than AAA. I don't think you can use both together, darn it! I just went back to my post and clarified what I meant, so it is less confusing!

We love brunch at Minnie's! Most recently last month, we got there really close to 11am ~ the place was empty but full of characters. I'm glad you had a good time.

I have heard that it is Buffeteria style.... What exactly does that mean??? I haven't been to DL since I was 12 and when we went we did not eat in the parks.

Buffeteria is sort of a hybrid of cafeteria and buffet styles. So in other words, this is not exactly a buffet set-up where you go and help yourself to the various platters of food, but it is set up like a cafeteria where you go up and pay and slide your tray along the counter past the various foods, etc. You tell the CM's/servers behind the counter what you want and how much of it and they put it on your plate for you. That is naturally the set-up of Plaza Inn anyway, even in the non-character meal hours. River Belle Terrace is also kind of like that set-up, except you can't ask for how much food you want. You just pay for the menu items, slide your tray along and the servers behind the counter put it on the plate. But at the Plaza Inn M&F breakfast, from what people say, you can request more eggs or more bacon or whatever and they plop it on the plate and you move along down the counter. That's buffeteria.:goodvibes

So, if I get my food and sit down, and then want to go back up and get more eggs, I can do that? Just instead of me getting the eggs, they put them on my plate?

Yes, exactly. For Minnie & Friends, that's how it works. If you want more of something, you go back and get in the line again and they give you more, unlike a buffet where you serve yourself. By when Plaza Inn goes back into 'regular' restaurant mode after M&F is over, then you pay for individual dishes you want - like if you want the fried chicken, then you pay for that meal and there are no seconds. With M&F, because everyone pays the same price, you can go back for more if you need it. At Goofy's, it is all-you-can-eat buffet, so you serve yourself and get as much as you want, and at Lilo & Stitch and Storytellers, you have the option of ordering from the menu OR getting buffet. Ariel's Grotto serves family style for breakfast and menu orders for lunch and dinner, I think.

Awesome thanks for this info. We are still deciding which breakfast we want to do, Goofy's or Minnie and Friends.

We looooved it too!

Even tho characters make me wet myself in fear.

The food was too good to ignore. mmmmmmm I just tried to keep myself dry when they got near me :scared:

:goodvibes I guess it depends on what your character expectations are. I think you will be happy with the food at both places (frankly, many of the recipes for certain dishes at all the character meals are the same; it is just that Goofy's has a bigger selection of buffet items in general), but by far, from all accounts, Minnie & Friends has the most characters onsite at one time. So if you want lots and lots of characters, do Minnie and Friends. If you want fewer characters with a vast buffet where you can serve yourself, go with Goofy's. I think either way you will be pleased!

Thank you for the good review. I am putting this on our list for an early morning breakfast before the park opens. Does anyone know what time is the earliest seating in Off Season (Feb/early March)?

I believe someone told me it is always an hour before the park opens. Not sure what time it opens in Feb and March though. We have PS for 7:10 at the end of July. Can't wait!

I too think it's an hour before park opening. Check laughingplace.com (I would post a link to previous year schedules, but "park hours" is down right now...)
