I lived in that area, I would go there all the time!

Sounds like you had fun! Where did you stay? How was it?

Stayed at Disneyland Hotel. It was pretty nice. Not Yacht Club or anything, but everyone was nice, the room and the decor was very Disney and the view of Downtown Disney was great....could see the Imagine Fireworks and hear the music from Downtown Disney. Pool was nice, but very crowded.

I woud like to take my kids to the Rain Forest Cafe in Dec. It looks like a well decorated, lively place. Would you suggest the Rain Forest for a "must do" for kids?

We usually do the Rainforest Cafe because DS (6) likes it. Try to go at a slower time and walk around to see all the "animals" in the forest. The food is nothing to write home about, but the place is pretty cool. I would definately say go at least once and see for yourself.

If you liked it now, you will have to come back after 5/05 and see DL at it's real best !:D

Whats up with Space Mountain... operating or not i know its going to be down when im there...

and Small World see anything good?

I would love to go back to DL...but it's a looong plane ride from MASS!
Small World was great...I think it was closed the last time we were at WDW, to it was nice to see it. I don't think there was anything new there.

Space Mountain, Mattherhorn, Tiki Birds, and a few other things were closed. I want to say I though I saw SM would not be open until 2005, but that may have been the Matterhorn.

Space Mountain is getting all new track, which is why it's been closed for so long. It will reopen sometime between May and November of next year.

What did you think of DCA? I'm going as a first time DL/DCA visitor in March. I've heard mixed reviews of DCA, but you sound like someone I can trust for good info.:D

It was great! I was amazed at how much stuff was in there, because from out hotel window, DCA is, like, just plopped in the middle of the city. The Grizzly River Run was really great, watch out for the geyser at the end, only about one in every ten boats gets hit with it (we did, got DRENCHED! actually had to go back to the hotel and change!)
Lots of great rides! ToT, Mulholland Drive, the big roller coaster (we never actually got on this), DH and DS went on the big Ferris Wheel, lots more. We only ate at Award Weiners and Wine Country Trattoria (****) there, but there seemed to be lots of good places to eat. The Main Street Electrical Parade is something to see (we had seen it at WDW, I think in 2000?)
Aladdin is a REALLY great show. The Disney Animation Attraction is really worth seeing. We did Playhouse Disney (hasn't changed at all) and the all the kid's ride in the Bug's Life Section. Paradise Pier is pretty cool, like a really colorful Coney Island. Also, a big kids play yard similar to WDW's Boneyard which DS (6) loved.
Lots to see.
