We just returned from a magical week..our first visit! We used the DDP and loved it. It was a lot of food, that is true, but here are my thoughts. My 9 year old is almost 10 and a big eater. We did not "upgrade" to the adult plan for him, but because of the portions of food we adults got, we were able to share from our plates with him so he didn't feel left out. He was able to have ribs, steak, crab salad, chocolate wave at Coral Reef, etc. Because of the amount of food you get, sharing with him was not a problem....we still ordered his meal, just shared from ours to supplement his. We were able to use all of our meals and snacks. On the last day, we got our counter service at the POR food court and took it to the airport to eat while we waited for our plane. I've done a lot of research concerning the cost effectiveness of the plan. If you factor in the extra money to rent a car or the cost of grocery delivery and the time lost at the parks, I really don't believe our family could have done better. Plus, it was our first vacation in 15 years and we wanted to be able to have whatever we wanted. The DDP allowed us to do that. Would we have ordered the same food if paying out of pocket...absolutely not! Would we have wanted to...probably. Did we get food we didn't need....of course, but it's a VACATION! I've heard a lot of different things on this board back and forth, but my family loved the DDP and would definitely use it again. Feel free to ask any questions.

Was there a wide selection of menu items on the DDP? Did you make it to Planet Hollywood or Sci-Fi?

Sounds like you had a fun trip!

In your opinion, which eateries did you get the most out of your 'money' from?

We did not eat at Planet Hollywood but did eat at Sci Fi for dinner. The food and service was mediocre, but my kids loved the cars and the stupid movies. As far as selection, you can order anything on the menu when you are on DDP. The kids menus are limited, but that's why we shared with my 9 year old. (My 6 year old will eat mac-n-cheese all day and all night!) If a menu has an item not included on the plan, the server will tell you. I can only remember this happening once and truthfully I can't remember where! We always told our servers up front we were on the DDP and they were all very helpful.

Our meal at Wolfgang Puck's was awesome! Counter Service at Cosmic Ray's was also a lot of bang for the buck. The character meals were great and we would not have paid for or gone to those without the DDP. (Call me cheap, but the kids can stand in line to meet characters!)

Thanks for the info. Very helpful and I am glad you guys had a great time.
We leave in 14 days and my anticipation is growing stronger by the day.

:) Glad you had such a great time! Can you tell me if the menu's were marked what you good get with the plan? My DSIL loves steak and I would hate that he couldn't order his fav. thing.

You can order anything on the menu unless the server mentions an exception. My DS ordered an awesome steak at Wolfgang Puck's. I remember one restaurant mentioning an item that was not included, but I don't remember where that was. Just remembered..it was at Wolfgang Puck's and it was that the sushi was considered an entree not an appetizer. Other than that you can pretty much order anything on the menu at most of the TS restaurants. Just let your server know you are on the DDP and he/she can let you know of any exceptions. Alcoholic or specialty beverages are extra. I saw steak at several places. Have a great trip!
