We returned Sun Feb. 5th. We were there for 9 days. We choose not to do the dinning plan this trip and it worked great for us. We had Club level rooms at the Dolphin so breakfast was covered each day. We ate at Rose and Crown, Le Cellier, Sci Fi, and Crystal Palace for sit down meals. Each was wonderful!!!! At Rose and Crown we had a perfect outdoor table for fireworks and DD6 got the honor of Starting the Fireworks. What a great experience! We had other ADR's made but cancelled them as we were having fun and didn't want to stop.

Here's the biggest surprise, the counter service variety! It was great. Lots of choices at the different places. DH and I remember wanting to have the sit downs because we would be so tired of burgers and fries by day 3. But this trip it was not an issue at all, as a matter of fact we went LOOKING for a burger on Wed because DS wanted one and we had not had one yet!

I hope that this menu selection will continue! Even the kids meals (which I often choose) were good. Lots of salad and grilled chicken, apple sauce, carrots. I felt like these were really good meals. :teeth:

Any questions, ask away!

I am wondering about Le Cellier. We are going there for the first time in a few weeks. What did you order? Any suggestions? How is the kids menu? I have seen the menu at allears, but I am wondering what you would recommend. I myself am not a huge steak eater, although I do like a filet now and then. My hubbie and Dad are the carnivores that wanted to try this place.
Thanks!

Congratulations on being chosen to start the fireworks - we were once chosen to open Epcot - so i know how excited you will have felt - tear in the eye moment! Are the fireworks always started from the Rose & Crown, do you know? Did you ask to be seated outside on the terrace?

Also did you have lunch or dinner at Sc-Fi - we have lunch booked in May but reading some reports i am tempted to cancel it! Don't like paying "over the odds" for average or below standard food.

Thanks

At LeCellier we had a late lunch. DD6 really likes the Chedder Cheese Soup and Pretzel bread. (We all do) She had that and the kids chicken strips. They also have a child size steak. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich and it was really good. Several in our party had the steak and said it was really good.

We always do lunch at Si Fi dinner. I think it gets a bad rap here on the boards! I like the green salad (good dressing) and this time ordered the kids grilled chicken breast. The kids chicken was a nice size meal for me with the salad. It came with green beans and potatoes. DD had a hot dog I think. I think everyone else had either a hamburger or chicken. Is it the best meal we have ever had out? No, but not the worst either. The thing is that it is such a unique experience. DD6 got the light up drink and that added to the fun. Just order the simple meals and you will be fine. We did order dessert but didn't really care for the cheesecake.

Rose and Crown is always a must do for us. Right now everyone is seated outside as they are remoldeling the inside. I do not know when they will finish. I had the chicken/veggie pie thing (it has a much better name!) Loved it, everyone else had fish. I don't know if that is the only one that starts the fireworks but we were so excited that she was asked. I had never heard of that before. She was beyond excited for DAYS!
