DH and I just got back from a very last minute trip to DLR. I was in LA on business so we decided to go to DLR for the weekend, get more use out of our APs!! :woohoo:

We planned to go on Friday and Sunday for sure, and decide after Friday whether to buy Blockout passes for Saturday. Well of course it didn't take long to decide to go on Saturday!

So we buy our blackout passes on Saturday, our first time to go during blackout. DH (the thinker!) says, hey I wonder if we could use both the Blockout Pass ticket and our APs to get FastPasses. So we try, and sure enough it worked!!! We were so excited. It really made a difference on a busy summer day, and helped ease the pain of another $60 towards admission.

Just wanted to pass this along to other AP holders who wonder if it's worth it to go during a blackout day!!

Let me know if you have any other questions! We stayed at the CCI, our first time. I had always wanted to try it, and while it was nice, we will probably not stay there again, just because of the distance. When it's hot and you're tired, it really makes a difference!

Great tip. Wish I'd thought of it.

hahah... pay $30 for extra fastpasses... worth it??? maybe... :)

That will only work if they actually scan your AP. I know when I've used a block out ticket they just looked at my AP but didn't scan it. I'm not sure what the procedure is supposed to be, if my AP didn't get scanned by mistake, or if your AP did get scanned by mistake.

Anyway, only scanned admission media will work in the fast pass machines, so if you notice your AP AND your block out ticket got scanned, you're in with two fastpass opportunities!

The day we upgraded our 3 day hoppers to AP's they gave us "day passes" to make sure we could get back in to the park (it was a blocked out day that we upgraded on). We were able to get fastpasses on our AP's and the day passes. Worked out quite nicely! :)
