Just a quick recap of what I noticed while it’s fresh and before I fly back and am super busy with real life. I have started a TR (in my signature) and will update that ASAP in more detail and with lots of pictures!
I chose to walk over to the DTD side of security and got in that line at 7:39. I was a ways back but about midway up the street). They opened security at 8, and I was through at 8:09. However, by the time I walk to the gate if California Adventure they had been letting people through for a bit, and there was already a 20–30 minute line for RSR.
I had to park hopper, and I was able to do everything I wanted for you during the day, including writing take thunder mountain railroad three times and guardians twice. I met up with @Astylla to ride Web Slingers and Guardians, which was very fun! I spent the morning in California adventure, hopped over to Disneyland at one, and hopped back over to California venture about 30 minutes before closing to end the night.
I feel like the crowd level was just about perfect. It was busy and lines enough to give the park plenty of energy, but the lines were mostly 5-30 min in reality, and they were not near a frustrating level. Mobile ordering worked flawlessly for me, with plenty of available times.
Another word of caution for people who are nervous: there’s no such thing as social distancing at Disney yesterday, and maybe only 20% of the people, adults and children wearing masks. It felt extremely “normal” there, except for the fact of the cast member still had to wear masks and some guests are choosing to.
I’m happy to answer any specific questions in this thread or through DM.
