Only because all of our favorite meals are usually the least favorites on these boards, and alot of the favorites on these boards were our least favorites!!

We were there June 21 - June 27.
It was me, DH, DS,DD and DD's friend.
We usually visit the world about 2-3 times a year, and this was dd's friend's first trip ever.

We were staying at the AKL,so our first meal of the trip was at The Mara.I really like the atmosphere and convenience of this place, but DH and I both found the food less then tastey. We both had a hotdog and fries. You can't mess up a hotdog right?...Wrong!
The kids all had chicken strips and fries that they all enjoyed, so we were happy with that.

That evening we had PS for Boma. This was the first evening of our trip, and we wanted to start it with a nice dinner at our resort.Unfourtunatly we checked in on a Sat. which seemed to make it especially crowded at Boma for the 7:00 dinner hour.It wasn't that crowded at the same time other nights during the week.Maybe a lot of locals out for dinner on a Sat. night??
DH and I both liked the food, but I have to say at least for me it is not one of my new favorites. The kids liked it OK,but didn't really have much to say.If we're staying at the AKL I'm sure we'll eat here again, but we won't make a special trip for it.

The next morning we just had cereal in the room before heading out for EE at the MK.While we were there we had a citrus swirl from Sunshine Tree Terrace. It's frozen orange juice swirled with vanilla frozen yogurt.DH and I both ordered one,and while we both liked it,we wished we had gotten one to share.
The kids all had the chocolate and vanilla swirl which they said was great.

We then took the monorail to Epcot for the day, and had a PS for lunch at Le Cellier. We have always had dinner here in the past ,so this was our first experience with lunch. Our PS was for 1:00pm and we had NO wait.We walked up,and they took us straight in. We enjoyed the bread as always, but we all tend to favor the multigrain and sourdough over the pretzel.
I had the open faced steak sandwich topped with arugala, tomato jam, sauteed mushrooms, and fried onions.
If your like me you're wondering what in the heck tomato jam is.
I'm still not sure, but it had a very fresh tomato taste with just a hint of sweetness that blended very nicely with the marinade on the steak.
I thought it was great,Dh liked his,but though his steak was a little tough.
The kids all had the JR. steak and mashed potatoes. Their steaks were TERRIBLE. Not only were they extremly undercooked, but the were tough as shoe leather. We'll definatly be ordering them something else next time.I wish we would have then, but they were satisfied eating their mashed potatoes and bread,so we let it go.Even the server noticed how undercooked they were though.
For dessert they had the chocolate mousse. It's so adorable and tastey too! My DS loves the maple cookies they use for antlers, and our server brought him a few extra.
DH and I had our favorite....the maple creme brulee...YUM YUM!!!

Sorry.....I'll try and finish up now:D

The next day we spent at Blizzard Beach, had lunch at Lottawatta Lodge.Dh and I had cheesebugers, which were not terrible, but the only good thing about them is that we weren't starving!
The kids all had chicken strips...Again!!! They should be sproutin' feathers by now.:D

That night we decided to grag something quick at The Mara agian.DH and I both had potato and bacon soup, and split a chicken ceaser salad. We did not like the soup at all,and the salad was again....just ok.
The kids all had mac and cheese, which the liked pretty well.

We spend this day at MK.First off let me say that in all our trips to MK I have never tried the dole whip.We always get the fresh pineapple spear.Having read so many raves on the board about the dole whip I couldn't wait to try one this time.It didn't hate it,but lets just say I'll be sticking with my pineapple spear!

We had PS for lunch at Tony's, which is always one of our favorites. Our PS was for 12:45pm,and again we had NO wait.
They start you with the most wonderful Italian bread and a dipping sauce that is a sundried tomato pesto with parma. cheese.I like it so much, I would go back just for this!
DH usually orders the speghetti and meatballs, but this time decided to try a new dish that was a cheese stuffed tortollini, with summer vegetables in an alfreado sauce.I snuck a bit when he wasn't looking......he liked it so much he wasn't sharing.....and it was very good.
They have changed the menu just a bit, and I used to always have the calzone of the day. They have now changed this to stromboli.I liked it pretty well, but I would have rather had the calzone. The stromboli was stuffed with a procuitto(sp), thinly sliced Italian ham, that I didn't really care for.
The girls had pizza, which they LOVED. They have changed the pizza crust, and it looks more like a bubbley homemade crust, rather that the flat pre-packed pizza look the used to have.
Don't get me wrong, even the old pizza was good, but DD said this new pizza was the best she's ever had...anywhere.
DS had the spegehetti and meatball. He ate every bit! This was the best he ate the whole trip.
DH and I shared the butterscotch creme brulee for dessert that was very good! I had to take a knife a draw a line down the middle so we didn't eat off of each other side.:p

And Again...........
We had dinner that night at another favorite, Pinnochio's Village Haus. I know, I know......Pecos Bills is number one on these board for hamburgers, but I swear we like the ones at Pinnochio's way better. We snagged our table by the window to watch the Small World ride, and then we all got burgers, and trecked over to the fixin's bar. We covered them with sauteed onions, mushrooms, and cheese sauce, and then got extra cheese sauce for the fries.OK and plate full of extra mushrooms too! They are so good.

The next morning we spent at AK,and snacked on fresh fruit from the stand in Harambe.Very good and fresh.
Then we went over to Mgm for the day. We had PS at Sci-FI,and this was the only time we had to wait for a PS other than Boma.
The CM said it was just so hot out people were taking their time and enjoying the AC,and weren't leaving.
I can't blame them, that was our plan!
Anyway, we LOVE this place. We always try to go here at least once a year, and this time was better than ever.I'm not sure, but the menu seems a little different than the last time we were there. The kids and I all had Mickey cocktail (aka..shirley temples) in the glow in the dark cups, with the glow in the dark ice cubes.SO FUN!!!!!
The kids all had the grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes, and green beans......Well ,at least this time it wasn't fried chicken strips with fries!
They all said it was very good, but DD thought the chicken breast was a little small.
DH and I started with the spinich and artichocke dip.Which we both liked alot, and DD ate a pretty good bit too.
DH had a new york strip steak which he said was way better than Le Cellier. go figure???
It came with some sort of potato and steamed veggies.
I had pork medallions in a brandy glaze and mashed potatoes. The presentaion was nice, and the taste was excellent!
Hard to believe, but truely our best meal of the trip!

The next morning we had breakfast at another favorite(we have alot of those);) Chef Mickey's. GREAT GREAT GREAT as always.
We had so much fun.We always try and do this on a day we don't have anything planned so we can sleep in and have the last seating for breakfast. The characters pay SOOO much more attention to you, and are so playful. We sat for an extra 30 min, I know, just watching the characters play with each other, and all the kids.
Oh! and after seeing that Food Network special DD decided to try the breakfast pizza with peanut butter and marshmellows.
She has decided it's her new favorite.

Well, that's about it....other than some assorted snacks and such.If anybody had any questions..I'd be happy to answer.

Thanks for the reviews....And you're not weird, everyone likes different stuff! :)

Thanks for all the good info. I'm wondering about the undercooked steaks. If they were overcooked, that'd be one thing, but couldn't you have just asked to have them cooked a little more? It's good to hear about the Sci-Fi. It's hard to believe a place would always be so crowded and not serve good food.

They did cook our DS steak some more, but it didn't help much.
The girls kept saying there's was fine until AFTER we left. Then they talked about how bad it was.
I knew their steaks were tough, because I was the one that cut them up,but they kept saying that they tasted fine, so I left it alone.
It was apparant at the end of the meal what they really thought when all the potatoes were gone off the plates, and the steak was just moved around a bit.
I don't know why they didn't say anything, especially after they saw us send back DS's steak.

Thanks for the reviews and there is no need to apologize for what you like or don't like because everyone has different tastes and is entitled to their own opinion. IMHO, it is what makes this board really great!Sounds like you had some interesting eating experiences! The pasta dish that your husband had at Tony's sounds really good!

LAWalz23-
I forgot to include that it had chicken in it also, so it was the cheese tortollini, and summer veggies, AND strips of chicken breast all in an alfreado sauce.

Great reviews! Thanks for taking the time to post them.
You mentioned a breakfast pizza at Chef Mickeys with peanutbutter & marshmallows? Do they still have the breakfast pizza with just cheese(and egg I think?) DS & I love that and are looking forward to it in August. He is allergic to peanutbutter so that other one wont work for us. :(

Thanks for sharing - Wonderful reviews!!!!!!

I'm sorry to say,but I don't remember seeing it, at least the day we were there. They had something that was called Goofy's Gooey Lasagna. It was cut into pizza shaped slices and had alot of cheese, but no eggs....this had zucchini.

Maybe they will have what you're looking for in August.I hope so!
It's terrible to have your taste buds set and looking forward to having something you really liked again, only to find out they don't have it anymore.:(

The Chip and Dale's peanutbutter pizza was on the kids buffet by the way.So maybe they had what your looking for on the big buffet, and I just didn't notice it.

I remember not being able to wait to try a Dole Whip after reading these boards. I had my family anxious to try it, but we didn't like them. We do like Beaver Tails though!

Great reviews!!

I was glad to hear your meal at Sci-Fi was so good. My boys cannot wait to eat here and I've heard so much bad stuff about the food this makes me feel a little better!

Oh and I'm now adding Tony's to our list! I love italian bread and olive oil(mmmmmmm)! LOL

Oh and I've never been a big Dole Whip fan either(at DL)I'm more of a pineapple spear type of girl too! Or the pineapple juice.

How long did you want to be seated at Bomas? We have also got a 7pm ps in just over a weeks time - also on a Saturday. Would they seat us any quicker if we showed up a little early - say 6.30pm, do you think?

pigby-
I'm not sure about getting there early. We didn't go until about 5 min. before our PS , and when we got to the bottom of the steps the waiting area was already filled with people also waiting.

We did only wait about 20min., so it wasn't like to the point we were ready to leave or anything.
It wasn't so much the wait that was bad,as it was being in the waiting area with SO many other people! It was packed in there.
We were also STARVING, so I know that made a wait that wasn't really that long just seem longer.I'm sure you'll be fine.

You could always do like my DH did,and just stare at the pager willing it to beep!:D
*of course it didn't work, but it helped keep him preoccupied*;)

OH! and what worked with my DS(4) to pass the time was....
after a few minutes we got a bench that is along side of a waterfall area at the entrance to Boma. I had taken several rolls of pennies with us to use in the pressed penny machines,
he spent the entire time "making wishes"...throwing his pennies into the water.

Thanks for the reviews! We have some of the same likes/dislikes! Guess that makes us a couple of weirdos too!
