Just back from HRH. Here are a few observations: HRH was very nice overall. Got a double queen deluxe room for $160/nht (Entertainment Rate). Hallways are long and in need of repair with very dirty carpet for this type of hotel. Room was in much better shape with very comfortable beds and very roomy. Pullout queen sofa was a little saggy for sleeping on, but the kids (11,8,6) didn't mind . Pool area was rated awesome for everyone in our family, beach area was very nice and the kids loved the slide (drinks are a little pricey from the Beach Club). Music loudness didn't really bother us on the 5th floor pool view, but I can see were it might if you were on a lower floor. Overall we really liked the music playing througout the hotel. Staff was very friendly and the only complaint was they double charged me at the Beach Club bar one day, which was quickly fixed at checkout. One complaint is that it's harder to find a good variety of food at the Universal Hotels at a reasonable price. Disney is much better at this with a good variety at there food courts.
FOTL access using the room key can't be beat. Most rides are walk on access (we walked on Hulk when the posted wait time was 60 minutes). The most we waited was 10 minutes for Dudley Do-Rights Ripsall Falls. In three days at the parks we did every single ride and attraction from 2-5 times.
This was awesome since we're near Cedar Pointe Theme Park where 60 minute wait times are the norm.
FOOD: all comments take into account the food quality and price.
Hard Rock Cafe - Average food at best and very noisy.
Sunset Grille - Pretty good overall, a little pricey !
Palm Restaurant - Excellent and not too bad for price considering the quality of food.
Mythos - Excellent and good price.
Ohana's at Poly (Disney) - Excellent, we love this place, but pricey.
Benihana - Average food.
CBR food court (Disney) - Pretty good at a good price with very good selection.
Other: RPR was very pretty, didn't get a chance to eat at Tchoup Chop though. Weather was hot and sticky but we loved it since we've been cold in Michigan all spring. We rate the rides in the following order:
1). Hulk, Spiderman (Tie)
2). Front seat of Fire (Dueling Dragons)
3). MIB
4). ET
5). River Adventure
6). Twister
7). Terminator
8). Beetle Juice Review
9). Wild West Stunt Show
10). Cat in the Hat
