We just got back from a week in a home we rented on vrbo.com. It was in Davenport Lakes and was wonderful. I couldnt believe what a beautiful home we rented, with a screened in pool in the yard, for $550 for the week!!!! The hotel we stayed in the first night. summerfield suites int. drive..was $130 for the one night, and im so glad we didnt decide to stay there for the whole week. The room was nice, but we had 3 teenage boys with us and one had to sleep on the pull out couch. The home had 4 bedroom and 2 baths, full kitchen. washer and dryer..the works. I would highly recommend this to families with kids. Much easier to eat breakfast right there before you leave in the morning.
The weather was also great..hot of course..but only rain one day in the afternoon. Definately invest in a water bottle. I had one on a strap that went into an insulated bag..just hung over my shoulder. We filled it up half way each night and then filled it the rest of the way with water in the morning and it stayed cold for a long time. there are also lots of very cold water fountains throughout the park..and they will give you a cup of ice water at the stands if you ask for one.
