Hi all,
I won't have time to do a trip report so thought I would do a quick summary for those interested. We only did a Disney this year (all parks including water parks and had some pretty relaxing days).
Highs
- Being proposed to in front of Cinderella's Castle
- AKL was amazing I didn't want to leave and we had the perfect room location just off the lobby. We had booked a standard view but could see animals as long as we looked over the storm drain so was pretty happy.
- Renting a car. We only did Disney but changed resort after 10 nights (AKL to AOA) so we thought we would hire a car to make it easier and it was so nice to have the freedom of a car especially at the end of the night leaving the parks. We did use the buses too and they were good from both resorts.
- AOA was an awesome value. Didn't compare to AKL but I knew it wouldn't. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again though, the icons were so fun, good food court and the little mermaid rooms were a 5 min maximum walk from the bus stops.
- Trying out some new restaurants - Sannaa, Beaches and Cream & Tusker House (all yummy).
Lows
- I injured my foot at the end of day one (tendon issue from wearing flat shoes) and was in agony to walk on day two. My DBF had to hire me a wheelchair in Epcot so I could make it. When we got back to AKL they gave us a wheelchair for our stay for free which was lovely. Unfortunately it took almost a week to get fully better so I could stop using the chair.
- Not knowing when we can go back. We have just bought a house so it's not on the cards for next year, I seriously have the disney blues.
Others
- Not a low as it was quite funny in the end but a fire alarm going off at AOA at 4 in the morning! Scared us both so much as we didn't know what it as so we spent a good 30 seconds just screaming at each other. We all evacuated and the fire brigade arrived. Luckily it wasn't anything and we were back inside in 30 mins.
