We were at DLPR from Friday 1st June - Monday 4th. Slightly apprehensive as hadn't been for 3 years and had read some reports which left me concerned. Luckily, in the main, my fears were unjustified.
Highs
Friday afternoon ... low crowds, lots of rides, even BTM was only posting at 30 mins
Blue Lagoon, never eaten there before, yes we waited for our order to be taken but from then on, super speedy and let us get out in time for the parade - food was overpriced but tasty.
Loved the parachutes in the Studios (as I suspected I would as I'm a fan of the jellyfish in California Adventure)
Parades - really great, love the music to both the parade and the party train (shame I couldn't find the train music on the cd)
Cast members ... worried about the 'rude' cast I kept reading about, sure they don't have the OTT american customer service but everyone we encountered was not rude, and most were very pleasant. What impressed me the most was the one and only time I saw an attempt at queue jumping (at the Frontierland Station) the CM told the people in no uncertain terms that they were to go back to their place in line ... she took no messing and was very stern with them (a group of Russian teenagers) and they obeyed - well done Celine!
Left luggage at the park - never realised you could do this, saved us the trip back to the hotel on Monday as we were getting the train to the airport - even meant I was able to run back for my coat when it rained.
I didn't manage to last the day to see Dreams which I know seems awful, but we have another trip booked in 6 weeks, so I'm saving something for then!
Earl of Sandwich, our new go-to for lunch ... ate there 3 of the 4 days, loved the chinese chicken salad.
Lows
Rained on Monday (not Disneylands fault!) which made the day seem quite long -especially as we'd got up for extra magic hours (in itself a disappointment as Buzz Lightyear wasn't open, nor the Carousel and the queues were longer for the other rides than at other times of the day)
Food generally overpriced and mediocre - but I expected that.
Never saw anyone smoking in a queue, yes there was smoking all over the park but only in places I could avoid rather than being forced to share smoke.
Toilets were smelly ... but we soon learnt to avoid the 'popular' ones and head for the out of the way ones which tended to be better
Oh and if anyone has their heart set on a 20th anniversary Mickey plush there wasn't one to be seen anywhere, not small or large, and no plush Mickey hats (plenty of Minne plushes and hats)
