Just Back!!! Highs and lows...

We just came back a few weeks ago, and I was expecting dirty bathrooms due to the discussions on this list. I am glad to report that they were spotless any time we went in. What is wrong with people anyway?

Mental note to self..........STAY AWAY from the bathrooms at GERMANY! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the report. I am thinking the ride stops are loading and unlaoding wheelchairs and stuff.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences with the bathrooms. It seems that I always find my way into one that has some discusting display, and I just have to back out slowly. While Disney has some fault in the mess not being cleaned up promptly, I find more fault with the people the leave the mess. Who would do such a thing? Even if I had an accident, I'd make sure that I cleaned it up. But some people feel they aren't at home, so it isn't their responsibility. Yuk, sorry you had to witness such things!

ITA! I could not imagine leaving a gross mess in a public bathroom, I'd be too embarrassed. One of my pet peeves is when people use the paper seat covers and then don't make sure those go down with the flush. It completely grosses me out to see a seat cover half hanging in the bowl, usually with some nastiness on it. UGH!

We always seem to rush everywhere cuz I feel like we never have enough time - but then I wonder if we stayed for 8-9 days would you get burnt out after day 6 or so? What did you think? How many days of "down time" did you have?

Thanks,
Linda

We were there last week and stayed in ASMo too! We were in the Fantasia building although it was the one with the Jack-in-the-box and not the Sorcerer's Apprentice building like I was hoping...but it was still fantastic! The beds were comfortable, the property was spotless and the pool was amazing. the only 2 "problems" we had with the hotel were:
- the girl that checked us in was brand spankin' new...it was her first day behind the desk and she had NO CLUE what she was doing. The lobby was packed with people trying to check in and she was only 1 of 2 people doing check-ins.
-There area behind the pool smelled really bad...
Pretty minimal stuff.....

At the parks, I didn't have any problems with cleanliness but I was mad on Tuesday when we were at Epcot and it was raining all day....thankfully it at least cleared up at night in time for Illuminations.

everytime I go by Germany the bathrooms are gross. One day I will learn to stop going there, but I keep trying to think it is just this once. This past trip in Jan. I could not even make it in the bathroom due to vomit on the floor of the entrance.

I am thinking Beer and sausage do not mix well at Epcot.

I wondered about that before the trip, too! Here's what we did: We had 7 day park hopping tickets. We went the first night to EPCOT for the Davy Jones concert :cloud9: , then after exploring the park for a while, went back to ASMO (kind of a waste of a "park hopper" day, but you have to have all park hopper days or none). The next day, we slept in, had breakfast at the food court and drove over to Villas at Wilderness Lodge. Our room wasn't ready, so we just went to Downtown Disney for lunch and shopping, then came back, settled into our studio and walked around the resort a bit. We had dinner at Chef Mickey's, then went to the pool in the evening. The next 3 days, we park-hopped all over, including the first day of Star Wars weekends on Friday. Saturday was relax-at-resort day. We rented a surry bike, wlaked the nature trail, hung out at the pool. That evening, we went to church and had dinner at Downtown Disney. Sunday and Monday were park-hopping days and, since we had a night flight home, spent most of the day on Tuesday park hopping as well.
Honestly, it felt just right. Having the resort day in the middle of the stay felt important...I think also since we had so many days there, we felt much less stressed about rushing around.

Have fun!

Karla B. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: This is why I will not book Biergarten, no matter how many times I am asked to. As the family planner, I say no to sausage, beer, and walking thru a hot park!!!! :lmao:

I never made the connection in my mind! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Honestly, this was our first time to Biergarten and we probably won't be back. It wasn't awful, it just wasn't as varied or spicy as I thought it could be. That said, I'm sure for many people, an all-you-can-eat buffet of German food unfamiliar to their digestive tracts could explain the bathroom issue in their paviliion!

Glad you had a great trip and thanks for your report. Maybe there should be someone in management to checkout these trip reports on the boards, for problems and of course the good points, to report back in their meetings, wouldn't that be great. (maybe its already being done) Now on to your next trip planning. Thanks again

Or it could be due to people trying to "drink around the world." If you can't hold your liquor, that game is not for you! LOL.

I am so discouraged to read about the filthy restrooms. :guilty:

Our last trip, in 2003, I experienced the same thing. Horribly dirty restrooms. Especially one in Tomorrowland. It made me sick to think Disney could allow it to get that bad.

I was hoping they had addressed this issue by now.

I might just send them an e-mail about this - there's no excuse for filthy restrooms. None.

We found the bathrooms to be pretty disgusting during our last trip too. We encountered a few things such as have been described but the biggest problem by far was ladies chosing to soak the toilet seats and not clean up after themselves rather than use the seat covers provided. So low class! And, I encountered this in about 90% of the stalls I entered. Nothing like having to clean up some other woman's mess just so you can use the facilities :crazy2: The bathroom at the gas station we stopped at on the way to the airport was nicer than the gross conditions created at WDW by the other park goers.

I thought I was the only one! And I don't get motion sickness as a rule but have to close my eyes for that Aladdin bit. I do fine on Soarin' though.

Glad you had a great trip!

I have problems with that same part of Philharmagic too! The only part of Soarin that bothers me is the end when they are flying over the freeway at night - I close my eyes until we get to Disneyland!

My horror bathroom is always in Adventureland. Every time I've been in there its been filthy. The plus side though is there's always been a CM on their way in there to clean up the mess!

I sent an e-mail to Disney yesterday about the restrooms. I'll let you all know when I hear a real reply - so far, just the canned one. :)
